Seriously, there's no reason to hate the Leafs anymore

They are no longer the big bad Leafs, the fan base has been humbled, the rivalries have become stale, they are no longer the main draw on Saturdays across Canada because of the Rogers deal which allows for more options, because of their recent big signings and the low Cdn $ (expected to drop to the low 70s) they've lost a lot of flexibility to make deals and are right up to the cap.

Part of the hate for the Leafs is half of what made them so popular in Canada.

Leaf fans humbled?? Don't think we have been too cocky the past few years.

Oddly enough, people never hated the Rangers more than when we missed the playoffs 7 straight years. People hate big teams, it has nothing to do with success.

What a creative, back-handed way of insulting the Leafs and their fans.

Big bad Leafs? They've been terrible for a decade, and still are. They weren't great the decade before that. Or the one before that. or the one before that. Yet most Leaf fans had them up on this pedestal. It's been a joke of an on ice product for half a century that fills its bank accounts on a fanbase that feeds on their mediocrity.

I never hated the Leafs. I just laughed at them. It's about time their own fans got the joke.
