Frank wonders if a Demko trade to Philly is a possibility. He says Demko is very loyal to Tochett.

Demko battled injury last year but is set to have a healthy off-season in which he can fully train. When healthy we all know that Demko is a Vezina caliber goalie.

The 29 yr old Demko will be making 5mil AAV this year which is his final year of his contract. He is set to be a UFA next summer.

Canucks have signed Lankinen to a long term deal. Arturs Silovs is also dominating the AHL playoffs and are leading the Abby Canucks to the Conference Finals which starts on Thursday. Silovs has a .936 save% and a 1.73 GAA.

What would it cost Philly to snag Demko this off-season. Canucks arent exactly interested in picks and prospects unless they can immidiately flip it for roster ready help. C and Wing is their biggest needs.

I think it could make sense and I don' think teh asking price for Demko will be ridiculous. Maybe something like the Flames 2nd and one of Ersson or Fedotov.

I could see Philly trying to add Demko. But I think there would be a bit of a bidding war for his services if it's just a 2nd and a throwaway goalie.

Canucks trading Demko anywhere will be not be value their fans want. He is too risky to other teams.

"What would it cost Philly to snag Demko this off-season" is where you're already a bit on the wrong side. He isn't some hero, looking like a cap dump / LTIR. I'm guessing OP and other canucks fans will be pissed about offers and want more, no one will want to offer anything due to his health.

I wouldn’t be shocked if Vancouver moves off Demko. They know how good he can be, but he simply hasn’t been available to them when they’ve needed him the most over three seasons now.

You can’t be a playoff team and not know if your goalie is going to be ready to play or not each year.

They will re-sign him before trading him imo.
Injuries he's had recently aren't related and not career threatening.
He's fully healthy now, nucks need to win and without Demko, they won't.

Dont think Canucks would have any interest in that type of deal.

Canucks main concern for this year and next year is to be competiive, win games in hopes it can convince Q Hughes to stay long term.

Its already being reported that the Canucks are going to be almost certainly trading away their 15th overall pick at the draft.

That 2nd rnd pick does nothing for them in regards to their goal this year and next.

Maybe something like Demko for Tippet would make sense? Some sort of deal like that, similiar to the foundation of the Keumper for PLD move.

Canucks aren't gonna trade Demko for a shit offer like a mid round pick. If they aren't offering a top 6 forward, which I don't see why they would, the Canucks aren't giving away a guy like Demko.

They'd only move Demko if it helps them obtain a top 6 forward imo.

Canucks are fine gambling on Demko this year and even extending him short term.

He is an elite elite goalie when healthy and they have insurance in net with Lankinen and Silovs.

2nd round picks etc in a weak draft is not going to be of any interest to the Canucks. Especially not for Demko who can steal them games and a series when healthy.

Why the hell would Demko be "very loyal to Tocchet"?

Tocchet wasn't a long term coach. He wasn't the coach that made him a starter. Very strange turn of phrase.

I can see Philly being interested. I can even see Demko maybe wanting a fresh start. But the loyal to Tocchet thing is weird and reeks of "former coach is now coaching over here" line drawing.

Then again this is Frankie who is only marginally more successful with his rumors than Eklund.

And really, Demko has very little value right now. Everyone knows that when healthy he is a fantastic goaltender. They also know that there is no guarantee he is going to play more than a couple dozen games.

Doesn't make sense for the canucks to move him and instead makes more sense to see if he can regain form. Not just for their season but for his trade value. Only way I see them moving him is if a GM offers up something close to what a healthy Demko is worth or if they really need the cap space.

I also don't think Silvos enters into the discussion. He's had a great playoff. But he was not good this year as a whole. He will have to earn a job and not be given it.

That and Seravalli's affinity for all things Philly has him wearing orange-colored glasses the vast majority of the time.

EDM 1st for Demko makes a lot of sense for both sides. Philly fills a position of need, and Vancouver will have much better luck turning their pick at 15 + another in the 30s into a player that can help now rather than just the one first rounder on its own with how weak this class is perceived to be.

The Canucks stand a very good chance at retooling super quickly this summer between whoever they pick up in that move plus Wallinder joining the team and Lekkerimaki having another year of development under his belt. They should also have $12-14 million in cap to sign/acquire a couple more forwards of note depending on who they trade their picks for.
