I'm not so sure myself how reassuring that is. It doesn't necessarily get worse, but if he just had it during the offseason he should be up to speed right now unless he doesn't train like an elite athlete at all.

Could simply be this, also he had a knee injury last season, didn't train properly in the summer and it shows, really embarrassing himself out there, hopefully he takes it to heart and bulks up in the summer.
