Not a sens fan but was wondering hows the value on this, got parts of this idea from the zuccarello thread. This trade occurs only if the sens owner is willing to break his internal budget and spend money to go out and win. As well as, the rangers realizing that it's time to rebuild and start off by selling there most attractive forward piece.

To the sens: Mats Zuccarello, and kelvin klein

He is a signed for 3 more years at 4.5 mill. Just had 61 pts and had 50 and 60 pt years two prior seasons. He's fast, got great vision and was surprised to see that he potted 26 goals this season. He would compliment the sens forward core, and is still only 28 years old. Also trade for klein who while not as good or young as ceci, is still a strong dmen who has the ability to play top 4 minutes with ease.

To rangers: Cody Ceci, 2017 1st round pick(top 10 protected, becomes a 2018 unprotected pick sens finish in the top 10), 2018 2nd and Francis perron

The rangers give up there best and most consistent player over past 3 years but get great value. Ceci is a top 4 dmen currently, and they get a 2017 1st as long as its not top 10. The second and perron are for klein. Perron is a intriguing prospect who just had a 100+ pt year in the Q, he is 20 and will be most likely a couple of years away, the second helps the rangers stockpile picks as they have traded plenty away in the past.

While I like the value, putting Ryan on the third line is stupid, also I don't think we can get much for Ryan without retention, and Melnyk is too cheap to retain. MacArthur is one more major injury from retiring, so I think put Ryan on the 2nd line, either trade MacArthur to a capfloor team and get something decent, or just put him on LTIR (Unfortunately for Melnyk he'd rather us be close to the cap and not spend money than vice versa).

Solid lineup, nothing special, barring major injuries or extreme underachievement and cruel bad luck, don't see why Ottawa can't come close or make the playoffs.

Sens don't even think twice about this. Ceci is a top 4 D at 22, a 1st and 2nd are big pieces, and Perron is a high level prospect (winning QMJHL regular and playoff MVP at 19).

Zucc is great, but not at the cost of all this. Sens don't need Zucc, he would be a surplus addition. I definitely would want Zucc, but he isn't needed.

Value is in NYR's favour, Ceci is underrated. Already at least a #3D, with upside for more, the 1st is valuable, top 10 or not, as is the 2nd, and Perron is a good prospect. As well, the Sens get much older in this trade. Its not the Sens' responsibility to replenish the Rangers' depleted stash of picks and prospects because they give them away like candy.

Pass from Ottawa.

Sens pass rather easily too in my opinion.

Majorly downgrade our defense both short and long term.
Perrons arguably our 3rd best prospect after Brown and Chabot (Debatable with White IMO)
And a first and a 2nd just make this deal down right ridiculous for the Sens.

Ottawa scores enough now that we really don't need any forward help. This trade would do nothing to help Ottawa. Zuccarello is a great lil player and fun to watch, but we don't need him. RW is arguably our deepest position.

Deal two great assets for mostly hopes and dreams. Pass as a Rangers fan.

Ceci would come in and be immediately your #3, likely behind Staal and McDonagh. and with a real possibility to be your #2 or #1 in the near future. Thats not hopes and dreams.

Also Perron would be your best prospect, outside of maybe Buchenevich.

And lets not forget how much the Rangers give out picks like candy.

This would be an amazing deal for them

So we trade the guy who is our #2, for a guy who would be a #3 with the hope he'll be more. A guy who certainly would not be our best, or even second best prospect that we hope will develop into someone as good as Zuccarello, and some picks that we hope will help us in 3-4 years. This trade is based almost entirely around potential for the Rangers, so how exactly is it not about hopes and dreams?

The Rangers lack picks, but that doesn't mean we should trade away two really great players for them.

It's R-A-N-G-E-R-S. Who are the rags?

People have been calling the rangers rags on HF ever since i joined. Admittedly i never asked why but said it because i like the sound of it. As for the trade ottawa scores enough goals and the team becomes more expensive with klein and zurracrello over ceci, Perron and the 1st

Just to note, the poster who made this thread is a Leafs fan. I guarantee he isn't making this trade proposal to make Ottawa better in any way, shape or form.
