Yep weird
When I had the option, to choose, I had selected dark mode, was always light mode, tried all the options, was always light mode.
Now it’s back to default only option again.
I guess not totally surprised, as othered on the mains were seeing dark and others couldn’t.

But from reading the main, doesn’t sound like they want to modify the defaults much if another update coming or something.
Good news, the option to choose your style is back.
Bad news, the only option is the default light mode...

1992, I am working at CAE (Canadian Aviation Electronics). They make flight simulators. A world leader.

1992, they sell them something like 25 simulators.. About 20 Million a pop (At that time! probably ~ 50 M in today's market).

In 1994.. we sell 2..

At the industry show of 1994, China has its own flight simulator.

I walked in on a test once, 3 Chinese guys jumped right on me.. A friend who was supervising the test had to come and tell them; I was okay!!!! f***, I died laughing that day.

I need your thought, I think to upgrade my tv. I curentely have a LG C9 65 inch

Never had a Sony , apparentely they have the best upscaling and processor. I was thinking the Sony BRAVIA 7 75 inch

I sit to 10ft. Also, now tv it s on stand . Would it be better to mount to the wall. Thanks guys

I can’t comment on the Sony, but the LG C9 is an excellent OLED tv, why don’t you like it.

If anyone made tables for tracking players (prospects or other things), the update broke the tables. If you want to fix them remove the =collapse at the top and the table should mostly fix itself

I bought the 85" model of this last year and am very happy with it. Works so much better than my LG CX in the living room and was priced well for how it reviews. Almost went for the model above, but didn't seem like enough increased performance to justify it. My brother bought the next model down and was also happy with it, but I can't recall the model number. Whatever you do, don't buy an LED without Local Dimming, if you can afford it. It makes a huge difference. The lowest end Sony's won't have it and my Grandma in law had bought a 75" that I noticed it straight away.

I bought a stand like this because it then allowed me to pivot the TV for better viewing angles depending where I am sitting in the room. The action on it is super smooth.

And set it on a stand like this. The height puts my eyes almost in the center of the screen height wise, which is ideal.

Wall mounting an 85" could have been done, but I much prefer this solution for my use case.

Oled's are amazing, but I find my LG CX is a bit of a reflection magnet and struggles in the bright living room. Moving it downstairs to my blacked out theatre room where my projector is was a game changer for it. I'd kind of soured on it in my living room which led to the purchase referenced above, but that was also to do with wanting a bigger size. Not sure about the new OLED's, but I understand they handle bright rooms better than my now aging CX.

I just got a new bulb for my projector in the theatre room, over boxing week, much better now. (More Brightness is back)
My Cx is on the wall, which can pivot left or right, or up down. That stand you got looks good though.

Fyi
In dark mode, I missed your links totally at first in blue, luckily you mentioned the links.

For movie and sport in 4K , this is amazing. But I just watch IPTV content, most of it in sdr. Picture is grainy a little bit. Maybe the Sony would not be better. This is I want to know. Do you know if the Nvidia shield pro would help

Hello sense fans

We have decided to visit Ottawa from Vermont this weekend when we saw the canals are open for skating and there is a Bruins game as well. Below is our loose itinerary, we are staying at the Business Inn near the golden triangle. Me, my wife, and kids 8 and 11.

Friday - Ski at Jay, Peak, Drive to Ottawa
Saturday - Skate on Canals / Bruins game / More skating
Sunday - Byward Market / Parliament / Museum / House of Targ
Monday - Canada Science and Technology Museum / Drive home

Questions on Museums: We can get into the Science Museum for free with a pass we have from the Fairbanks Museum in VT. Would the museum of nature be a lot like Science museum? Should we check out the art or history museum instead? I like that they are both in the same general area vs. the nature museum.

Parliament: I read there is a lot of construction going on. Is it still worth going in?

Am I missing anything else? Any events going on?

Thanks!

That's a good itinerary. Depending on how well your family skates you could Skate from downtown to the house of Targ. it's literally next to the canal at Lansdown Park. I don't think your VT pass would work here. The museum of Nature and the House of Targ are outside of the core and closer to each other. Both are great for kids. Museum of history and the Art gallery is right there a short walk across the river. It's cool for kids too but more for History lovers and the IMAX at the museum of history. If you go to the house of targ around dinner you could skate back to your hotel. There are shacks along the way to warm up in and take breaks.

The main Parliament Building is currently closed for rehabilitation but there are still areas you can visit.

Nice. New bulbs feel kind of like a new projector. I bought a Laser model a couple years ago and have been happy with it but I almost miss that rejuvenating excitement coming periodically.

Ya nothing wrong with wall mounted. I did worry the 85" might be harder to pull out and rotate/tilt, but it probably would have been fine. I've got an old 50" wall mounted next to the 85" for the odd times I want to watch 2 games at the same time.

Those links showed weird, just amazon.ca for some reason. Speaking of links, I linked the wrong rtings review. Correct one is below. I bought the 90L over the 95L because the premium didn't seem worth it.

I wouldn't expect miracles from a Shield Pro on the same TV with the same content. I have one and its upscaling is decent but nothing that's going to change your experience significantly on the same display, imo. I also have Zidoo boxes with my local server content and it depends more on what I feed it as to what looks good or bad than what the box is doing to the content. That's consistent on all my displays. Its hard to say without knowing the quality of the IPTV stream, but it could just be that garbage in garbage out scenario. Maybe another display like the Sony handles it better playing to its strengths, but the C9 you have is still a high end TV. I don't think Sony's processing is going to put it over the top and be worth a purchase for that reason alone. The Sony question is more of a LED vs. OLED debate of the tech trade offs and the type of room you're putting it in.
