Incredibly intelligent, talented and wealthy people can go off the deep end, too. What Musk has accomplished in his life cannot be erased (or diminished), but his last ~2.5 years have been a Ketamine induced death spiral, and there's no end in sight. When a person with billions of dollars abuses hallucinogenics and cuts out all non-sycophants from his life... the 2025 version of Elon Musk is what you get.

It's really sad to see, to be honest.

I think some people were okay with him, until he started to advocate for common sense, and began to support those who were doing the same. Then those people ( who used to support him) decided to “cancel him” but it didn’t take, and they still haven’t realized the Paradigm has shifted and they’ve been left behind.

Ah yes, common sense! There's no doubt that we're seeing a drastic shift away from many "woke" policies and viewpoints, and some of Musk's current views align with that shift and are perfectly fine... but many of his other views and actions are batshit crazy.

Take today, for example. President Trump announces a $500B AI infrastructure project in partnership with Open AI, Oracle and Softbank. What does Elon do? He goes on Twitter to shitpost the investment and says it'll never actually happen. What a common sense thing to do during the 2nd day of the new administration that he supports! It's as if he was a 13 year old who learned his friends went to a party but didn't invite him, so he threw a tantrum.

Make no mistake, Musk will fall out of favor with Trump by April and MAGA will "cancel him" as well. He'll be a (very) rich guy without an island. The left has left him, and the right will soon join them.

The man is on a self destructive path. Largely due to, as I mentioned, drug abuse and self-loathing (as Sam Altman said today). It's unfortunate.
