Arnold should run for President, he has a great rep, good speaker, and his new movie is pretty cool

This is the most un Canadian conversation I've ever heard, we have to worry about Trudeau or Harper getting re elected. Mulcair ftw

Arnold and Mulcair aren't at all similar politically

On a different, lighter topic, how bout that Deadpool trailer

Only saw horrendous footage someone took with a phone( vertically, no less), but it looks cool.

I'm a little more pumped about Batman versus Superman. So many amazing moments in it.

I'm not well versed in Canadian politics but I do follow the NDP on Facebook, that's about it. I also watched a few elections on CBC before.

Interesting to see how many socialists are on the boards here... more than likely a reflection of average age of posters.

Trump is running as the purist populist we've seen in awhile.

Also, this is obviously just the nomination process, not the Presidential election, so things will still change a bunch once the field gets settled.

Bernie Sanders should be given credit for stating he's a socialist, instead of lying and saying he's some sort of middle ground centrist, absolutely.

However, he's just as capable of, and lies just like, the rest of the politicians campaigning currently.

As a Canadian investor of American mutual funds and stocks, you mean.

Regardless, Canada's low dollar has more to do with Harper dropping our economy all over the kitchen floor, and less to do with who the POTUS is.

The low Canadian dollar is due to the massive drop in the price of oil, and a few other natural resource commodities dropping in price.

If anything, Harper's policies kept the dollar higher than it should have been for too long.

On the US politics topic -- Trump is not a serious contender for POTUS; no one should be concerned about that as a possible outcome.

Isn't that a jail-able offence in the 'States? I'm pretty sure it contravenes some 1950's laws you guys have on the books somewhere.

:sarcasm:

No one has shown up to my door yet demanding to see my papers so I am okay for the time being hopefully!

Yeah he's capable like most people, but his track record really does speak for itself. It's interesting how the small section of Vermont Republicans also vote for him because he defends small business tooth and nail as well.

I wouldn't vote for him over Hilary Clinton but I don't mind what I've read about Jeb Bush and I've done a lot of reading

The guy is very moderate which I like

I was just razzing you, I won't for Hilary or Jeb if those two are the candidates, it will be Green party again for me. I've heard about some really dumb stuff Jeb has said though, although I'm not really in candidate research mode just yet so I haven't confirmed a lot of the stuff for myself either.

Trump is a serious contender as recent polls sugges. Probably the guy the US needs the most, not somebody whose campaign is based on hope and broken promises

Ya, I can see it being a somewhat true statement, but the tone is definitely a little condescending,

But there is the old saying, "If you're not a socialist at age 20 you don't have a heart. If you're not a conservative at age 50 you don't have a brain."

How true it is, I don't know. I vote for NDP (even donate and signed up to volunteer)... but I am exploding with evil that you cannot comprehend, so that's moot.

Yeah the guy who has declared bankruptcy five times or is it three? and is still wealthy because the entire game is rigged is the guy I want as president. Well besides the fact he's also a blithering idiot when it comes to any actual political issues.

Trump is the 2nd worst candidate, after Cruz.

Honeslty. I have no idea how you could look at Donald Trump, his history, his finances, and say "this man deserves the keys to the most powerful country in the world".

I mean... has anyone ever listened to the man? Heard his views on things? Holy christ, he's the most out of touch old white man in a country full of out of touch old white men.

Just the fact that he is still asking for Obama's long form birth certificate, STILL, 8 YEARS LATER, tells you everything you need to know about his politics.

He is a Koch brothers smokescreen. It is the most obvious current political fact in the United States as of me typing this out right now. How that is not immediately evident to anyone with at least two rocks in their head to knock together is beyond me, and that ANYONE would vote for him outside of the most fervent Neo Con leaves me deeply worried about the current American political climate.

Sorry, maybe it's a reflection of how many Redditors on on the boards here?

Both Sanders AND Trump in my opinion are doing what's most needed in American politics, and that's stating the obvious problems that have become a 3rd rail in the USA, and other Western countries.

Poverty and the wealth gap is a real problem.

Illegal immigration and penetration of the border is a real problem.

Trump is the biggest flip-flopper in the last 20 years of american politics. He is saying whatever people want to hear, he has zero convictions behind any of his public statements.

The man has the integrity of a mexican wrestling villain. Why anyone would trust anything he says at this point makes my brain hurt.

At least Sanders has convictions.

You mean like Obama? The only reason he won was because he had the black vote and dumb youth blindly votred for him because he was "hip" and was gonna bring "change"?

Blacks aren't even 15% of the US population. Obama won because his opposition was so weak, Romney ??
