The 4th line was awful in Montreal. Much better in both Toronto games, but still not the best line.

Malgin-Tavares-Nylander easily... Pure dominance and I don't think they've made a single mistake yet. They are dragging that sorry excuse for a top line right now.
Tavares? Isn't he the point per game guy who's all washed up?

The entire line has been off for 8 straight periods.

Matthews has had his moments but Bunting has been brutal and Marner hasn't been much better.
Washington game?

Muzzin was the 4th Leaf to cross the blue line and he was only 4th because someone was changing. Holl jumped in because he was the last one to make it back to the defensive zone on the previous play do he already bad a head start.

Muzzin can't skate.

i'm obviously being sarcastic...

Not sure if it was mentioned, but Nylander had a great shift there toward the end of the period, creating a chance offensively and backchecking hard to our own end.

How many chances do we need to score?

Between the 3 games, Nylander breakaway, Kerfoot had like 3 and a penalty shot, Marner breakaway, multiple 2 on 1's. No one can score.

When William Nylander gives a shit, he’s usually easily the best player on the ice.

he and tavares look really good. I still rather see Robertson on that line, just having another finisher and a guy with tenacity. I can only dream. Or hopefully later in the year they add Knies to that line

You mean JT's line?
Unquestionably. Tavares has been our best player through these 8 periods. However, the 4th line is playing well. They're not spectacular but they know their role and I'll be happy if they chip in a goal here and there.

Marner has been brutal thus far. Handling the puck like a grenade. Passing is way off. Matthews has to work harder trying to get into an open spot. I know he's trying, but he's either blowing the zone or having to skate through three players. We don't want Bunting being our main shooter on that line.

Holl  Another giveaway. Bailed out by Matthews.

Don't want to jinx this but Samsonov giving us what we need. Not spectacular, just competent.

It's obvious that they are still in preseason mode.

Meanwhile guys like Steven Stamkos have already scored 4 goals this week.

The first line is suffering because they are playing with Muzzin and Holl
