Hurricanes are by far the best team in advanced metrics and it isn't even close. Just being better than most teams they've faced in metrics (especially considering they were chasing us due to score effects) is a win in my book.
Yeah at this point you’re likely not out corsi-ing them. Their game is imprinted on their brains. You neeed your goalie to be sharp and you need to either blocked the shot or clear the lane for your goalie

Best mixed whiskey drink is a manhattan…. Whiskey, red vermouth, orange bitters, maraschino cherries and juice. I substitute port or a similar fortified red wine for the vermouth. Almost any whiskey works in this.

Try it!
It would make more sense to swap it out for an amaro, if you're going to. Port is not aromatized in any way, so you're changing the flavour and balance of the drink completely.

It would be really shitty if they waste this solid win with a loss today.

Ottawa playing last night returning late, probably no morning skate…..with Pittsburgh sitting here, in Ottawa since yesterday….. classic trap type game.

My expectations for tonight are low ish.

Bad travel. Stutzle and Norris both got stingers last night and so did tkatchuk.

Yeah, a black manhattan recipe calls for amaro, I think.i

I tried port one time and really liked it…. So I guess my drink isn’t actually a manhattan, but I like it! Perhaps a little too much.

I would say all the new guy are playing really well for us (ye David Perron not playin anyways). But there big Dad as other mentionned Is Jensen and is the suprise of the season with Gaudette. Guy is rock solid and he was with washington too but he produce offense at a really good pace and is not shy to go deep in the O zone. Hope Pinto got back his Game cause we need him big time.

1 point behind of the mighty Rangers(ye they a game in hand but who cares), they were lock to go deep in the playoffs . You never know in this league we can easily make it and they don't .

Now how do we see improvement is really if we can have a winsteak on the road try to win 3 or 4 in a row. Something this team never made for long years now and it's time if they want playoff this year.

I feel like the team should be fighting to be third in the Atlantic. I think it's attainable and at worst you fall into a wildcard spot hopefully.

TBL and Boston are definitely vulnerable but it's still a tall order, I'd guess we'd need ~98 to 100 pts for a division spot. Wild card should probably be in the 89-94 range this year.

Cousins has a lot more skill and speed than I anticipated.

He’s pulled a MacEwan where he’s suddenly a factor.

I think Boston is.

I think Tampa is still better than we are.

I agree, but the way I see it is they are in reach if we win the head to head matchups. Wouldn't bet on it but it's a realistic goal to target as best case scenario.

I’ve seen less from Perron this year than either MacEwan or Cousins.

Says more about Perron. Obviously he’s had a variety of issues but missing time like that means he has a lot of catching up to do for an older player.

We don’t have a Kucherov.

My expectations for tonight are low ish.

Also, we never seem to build on our own momentum.

That’s been the way I’ve been looking at it as well. I think Boston is vulnerable, but TBL is still a pretty decent team.

Tampa Bay has an eye popping +26 GD which is best in the division.

Boston’s -23 speaks volumes.
That's a fair point. I think 18 of that +26 GD comes from 3 games, they don't take the pedal off the gas just because they have a lead, and I think that plays into it, but they will be tough to pass.

I don’t think it’s all that unusual.

Take our three best games out and our GD drops by 15.

Boston has the 4th worst goal differential, they've only been nabbing wins from Swayman/Korpisalo managing to have some great games between them(though Swayman as a whole has been inconsistent).

They can’t score.

They are only 3 ahead of Detroit (who is last) in the GF department and they’ve played more games than anyone in the division.

I’m often wrong when it comes to predictions but I didn’t like Lindholm in Boston or Stamkos in Nashville and both are panning out as expected.
