Send a message with a healthy scratch?

Since many of these "players" have NMCs, or horribad contracts that can't be moved, would making one of them a healthy scratch send a message they can't ignore? As a group does this team have enough pride for it to matter?

I only put players on the list who everyone knows would normally never be a healthy scratch. Scratching a player like Forbort doesn't send a message.

Who would be your first healthy scratch, and why? Maybe to create some minimal interest in the rest of the season the fans should decide on which lazy, unmotivated, beach-lover should be scratched for each game.

I'll start. For me it's Anze the pansy for obvious reasons. I know it doesn't really rhyme, change it to Anze the pan-jay if you want it to rhyme.

I seriously would scratch him today. All would be shocked and wonder: if he has personal issues, a fallout with coach, possibly being traded, nagging injury...etc ALL of those are good and the world will hear he was scratched. Will make news on nhl.com tsn.ca and all the King players will wonder WTF?

No way should Muzzin be on this list. He's one of the few guys giving decent effort. He's playing 21:26 per night in all game situations on the worst team in the league and he's still a +3. There's a reason why. He's one of the few players on the team (and only dman) to have a positive +/- BTW. Kings as a team are -26.

I also think Muzzin and Amart are our most tradeable assets. Scratching either one lowers their perceived worth around the league. Bad idea.

My vote would probably go to Kopitar. The other guys have an excuse. I probably wouldn't scratch him out right though. Just take away his PP time and throw him on the 4th line. We'll see how feels about that.

Muzzin has been our best D by far since about a game before Stevens left (the game we won in the face of the Mayor's Stevens' rumors).

He is a very valuable piece, and it's nice this shit show hasn't torpedoed his value. He's always been undervalued by us. He get's a 1st plus alll day. Martinez gets a first plus, but a lesser plus all day.

Trade both of them, sign Slava.

Why not just strip the leaders of their leadership letters and give it to those on the team that has heart?That could send a message.Or strip Kopitar of the C and give it back to Brown and strip Doughty of his A and give it to Quick.

I thought Kovalchuk was giving effort out there, but you can look busy and be ineffective at the same time. I am probably not the right person to ask this question, because I wasn't in favor of signing him in the first place.
