Awful news. Isn't this the same disease Calgary's Ass. Gm was diagnosed with a couple of years ago?
Yes and it’s what Börje Salming just passed from as well.

It’s a pretty rare disease but there’s been a lot of cases in hockey for some reason.

Never really heard of it before the challenge.

Just had a former coworker get diagnosed with it in September and passed away 2 weeks ago.

It sounded brutal to deal with no only for him, but for his friends and family.

Hopefully it's not as aggressive so there's some more time with his friends and family

Man, that was tough to watch. It was amazing how much of a stark contrast his emotions came across -- he was quite positive, yet you could tell his extreme dejection knowing his ultimate fate.

Even not knowing him or having heard him before, you could tell the effect it has had on his speech, both in terms of the slowness and slight hoarseness in his voice.

It's an absolutely horrible and devastating disease, and I wish him all the best in his toughest battle and hope he is able to do what he loves to do best for as long as he can.
