Can't believe I'm defending Canada but come on...Canada would've crushed Germany if both countries brought their best players.

Which says something about how big the upset is. Canada already have a better team than Germany by a huge margin. They should not lose. Bring in the best players and the margin becomes exceptionally huge. This is a huge upset whether Canadians would admit it or not. It just is.

How can you be so sure about that? Remember quarterfinals in Sochi where Canda beat Latvia only 2-1? I guess you don't. Nothing crushing there back then so you can't say that.

Also only beat Norway 3-1, even though Canada should be much better.

EXACTLY

Canadian scrubs are stars compared to Germany.

No, you've missed my point entirely.

Guys like Rob Klinkhammer and Max Lapierre would not have made the NHL if they had been German.

Europeans are usually only drafted for offensive starpower.

The pluggers come from North America.

Anyway, whatever, it's an upset, the degree of which apparently is debatable.

This is our game!

No you are wrong, it's not a huge upset and the margin is not huge. In goal Poulin and Aus den Birken is about equal, at defense Ehrhoff is better than any Canadian D and for the rest advantage Canada but not by huge margin. At forward, Patrick Hager, Marcel Goc, Dominik Kahun, David Wolf makes team Canada easilly. Yes Canada should have win but don't underestimate Germany (+ Germany has played a lot more games with this core, these guys knows well each other)

German Teams get detroyed in the CHL. This says everything about our players teams.

Team Canada was playing Babcock style hockey, it was one of the most impressive displays of defense I've ever seen. They were in control every single game and I think set the record for least goals against ever.
