It's almost more intriguing now because Germany has beaten two contending teams and in some ways the pressure is even higher on OAR not to lose than it would have been if Canada had been there.
 
Wow, congrats Germany! Well deserved. And congrats to Canada on dodging a bullet. Had this sorry excuse for team Canada won, they would get eaten on Sunday by the Olympic Athletes from Hell, or whatever they are called nowadays.
 
This Canada team was hard to support, not really bummed about the result, more so embarrassed.

They were dirty. They were disjointed. They were sloppy. They had zero skill.

They should have sent the best CHL and NCAA players they could and then sprinkled in a few vets for leadership. I think they would have more success.

Can't believe I'm defending Canada but come on...Canada would've crushed Germany if both countries brought their best players.

Even the Swedes and the Finns.

It's not a uniquely Canadian phenomenon here.

I do wonder if Germany does win, how it will compare to 1980 for Russia. As in which loss would have been more devastating?

Germans played a good team game. Russia has some game breakers so it will be a little more difficult. But if they stay patient and keep it simple, they will have a good shot at gold.
 
For the first time since 94......I can strangely say I don’t even care we lost.

Was just very hard to get behind this team enough to care.
