Well, no hard feelings - the difference in material was so great and Sweden was far better. Anyway, Marjamäki earned himself an extra year, and hopefully it will be much better - and hopefully the NHL absentees a fluke.

Don't kid yourself. It's quite obvious it's only finns living in sweden who cares about beating sweden. I think swedes in general are more obsessed in proving they're the big brother of the two. The same goes as you say against norway in skiing.

Not at all. Finns care a lot (and much more). Like when they beat Sweden 6-1 in WHC a couple of years ago, Finns travelled to Sweden and started burning Swedish flags. You wouldn't see Swedes doing that.

Congrats to the swedes. Solid game. Next time Finns try to shake Swedes dont do it by silly mental games. Saying The King aint no king and Landeskog is the worst player. Doesnt work. They both ran you over.

I heard they laughed about it, then beat them with total coolness and controll.

Well true but finns always been smaller lesser and has a little brother complex. Have to understand finlands history. Its a good country from what i ve heard. All they have is hockey and swedes beat them for decades but swedes also go there learn them to organize teams and winning gold with a swedish coach. Burning flags is awful and pityful but knowing history makes it easier to understand. Im not from Scandinavia but have read annd folloed the history in hockey and finns have stepping it up since the 90's. They care a whole lot!!

LOL. You smell that smelly smell?

Here is the story: https://www.thelocal.se/20110516/33808

Some local Finns from a border town went over to Sweden to "rub it in". They were physically assaulted by Swedes. A flag was burned at some point. Whoop de woo.

Considering the "Gretzky" record for Nylander, you also have to consider Nylander missed a couple of games for the tournament. I don't think you should compare Nylander or any other player to Gretzky, because he was himself and played in an entirely different era. What you can draw from this is, William Nylander is a damn special player.

This!

No reason to belittle Willy's achievement. The guy is just a puck wizard and much like his father in this sense. The Leafs have an embarrassment of riches in guys like Marner, Matthews and Willy Nilly, the half-blooded prince.

They all process the game very fast and play it with style, vision, skill and elegance. That much we all must admit even if we couldn't bear their bragging. Hah. I mean, the bragging of the Leafs fans in which they are pretty good, almost as good as those three guys in the game of hockey.

Bad winners are so sad to watch. I mean life must be just awful for those people, dont you agree?

I cheered for Finland but Sweden was clearly the better team and deserved the win. Contrary to Finland Sweden is except of 1 player composed of NHL player.
Considering this fact and that most here included me expected the Finns losing already the quarterfinal against USA, I think the 4th place in worst case is much better than most Finns counted on before the beginning of the tournament. Additionally I think many Finns didn't put it past Marjamäki because he was so strongly critizised as the worst coach Finland ever had so far.

Congratulation to Sweden may be they can with the 10th title.

I'm impressed that the Finns pulled it together when it counted and got this far. And props to Finnish posters here. No sour grapes. Class.

Im not going to name anyone but in future Finland vs Sweden games can some posters from each side please refrain from trying to ruin the thread for everyone else? I get trash talking during the game that's part of the fun, but when the fat lady sings the game is over and so should the trash talk. But when you come with stuff like REEE YOU CARE WAY MORE ABOUT THEESE GAMES THAN US REEEEEE, and continue with some ridiculous spouting about some **** that happened 6 years ago, hours after the game has ended, you just sound pathetic.

Anyway cheers to the finns it's an impressive feat to go this far when you have so much going the wrong way to start it off.

Good luck for the final Sweden! You guys deserved the victory. Hopefully next year we get a better roster.

Use your chance to win the gold because if you lose you will feel like you didn't even want to go to the finals.

Wtf, a pathetic cowardly action if this criminal act actually is true. You have some sources?

Hmmm. strange/weird comment from you?! We defeated Finland and we now play the WC finals, we want to be in the finals and we deserve to be in the finals, hopefully we will win.

The world's best hockey nations facing eachother in an Olympic or WC final, what's wrong with that? We all want to be entertained, don't we? Of course it will be a tough one, any team facing Canada in hockey these days is the underdog, Sweden too.

Well, stupid it is. But bhoys are bhoys, and when drunk stupid **** happens. Nothing to be proud about. But don't overblow the issue, guys. It is the very Finnish drunken way. To do something very stupid sometimes. Yet, in the grand scheme of things it is not the most serious antic taking place in this bloody world. Hah. In good and bad, I can tell you, the Finnish way is very good. You would know this if you knew this nation and its true nature!

Just visiting Helsinki should open your eyes. Such a great, open, interesting, trendy and friendly city with just the right mix of everything, from east and west!

It was actually the Swedes that instigated violence and were criminally charged. Finns were just being moron hockey fans.

I don't have a (big) problem with Finns ;-) it's fun with the competition between the countries in sports.

Also, we share a lot regarding culture, language etc.

We have many people from Finland in Sweden and already for hundreds of years ago we had huge areas in Sweden with forest workers from Finland called "Finnmark". What I am trying to say is that many people in Sweden have some Finnish blood in their veins too. ;-)

Finland newspaper has critisized nylanders play and said he is a diva with the puck. Swedish tv interviews him about it.

http://www.expressen.se/tv/sport/hockey/nylander-om-sagningen-vad-ska-man-saga-det-ar-ju-en-finne/

Haha! His answer; "What can you say, it's a Finn."

Man, people were acting so nice a few pages back, then a couple of bad eggs come and ruin it.

The argument they're having is hilarious as well.

Finn: "Swedes care way more about beating Finland!"
Swede: "No, Finns care way more about beating Sweden!"

repeat ad nauseum.

Don't think either side realized they just strengthened the case of the opposing opinion.

Sweden is full of Finnish blood due to Skogsfinnar. Even your prince has Finnish roots.

This years loss for Swedes wasn't really mentally that bad. We didin't get unlucky or anything, we didin't deserve to win anyway. Easy to just congratulate the opponent, best luck to the Final.

Where are todays gdts? Please update the lineups for sweden
