Holy Jesus how ****ing slow and handedless Finland has been during the tournament.
It's a miracle we beat USA and advanced to semifinal.
No speed ( Same old farts like J-M Aaltonen,Pihlström, Savinainen,Pyörälä etc playing all the ****ing time)
No skill ( no game breaking talent and goal-scoring)
No discipline ( too much idiotic penalties)
No coaching ( Marjamaki can **** off.)
This Euro Hockey Tour hobby team should have get relegated.

Yeah indeed Finland is going to become a powerhouse for real a constant favourite along with the top 3 in not just a few years.

guys did better than expected, really nothing to be mad about.
The smaller the player pool, the bigger the difference. Take Slovenia, for example:
No Kopitar = B team
No Kopitar nor Mursak = C team
Take 30 best Canadian players off and they can still ice a team that has like 50% chance to win gold.

Definitely, and even though Sweden is ahead at the moment, what Finland is doing now with young players is amazing.

I think Finland played really good 5vs5. Would have been really tight game without the offensive zone penalties although the Puljujarvi one was quite bad by the referee. Can't blame too much Marjamaki for individual players deciding this with the unnecessary penalties.

Marjamäki isn't the most lively, innovative or refreshing coach, but I think that wasn't a game changer in this tournament. Team Finland, (once more) did better than they should. Only this time not because of coaching or team cohesion or team spirit, but because they won one important game. Against the USA.
Team Finland just didn't have it this year, and still the team overachieved somehow.
Congrats Sweden, you didn't trust luck, just played hockey instead.

Yup, that's a cool record and considering how friggin' slick he is at such a young age, can you imagine Nylander 10 years from now? He'll be a beast.

The only reason we won against USA was because Trashill was too stupid to take advantage of the obvious weaknesses of Finland. They played straight into our hands in that game.
The moment I saw someone mention Nylander, I guessed it was a given someone would bring this up.
Well deserved win, though hardly something to be rated considering this Finnish team is a lot weaker than what they usually bring.
It's "Vita Hästen" in Swedish which would be translated as "The White Horse". The team was originally two different teams - IFK Norrköping and IK Sleipner. The two joined together, the new team being called IF IFK/IKS. Obviously that "name" didn't last long. It was changed to Vita Hästen as all the fans already called the team that. Why? Because the jersey was white and Sleipner was Odin's horse. Hence; The White Horse.
