Yeah, it's like back to the stone age. Modern hockey is all about speed, youth and skill, not sitting back passively waiting for the opponent to make the first move.

Marjamäki has probably got his hands on some old playbooks from team Sweden circa late 80's early 90's with their patented "styrspel". Only difference is that the Swede's were so much better at executing it and they had better players too.

Marjamäki's team Finland is going the way of the dodo.
 
Good game today, probably our best in this tournament. Hopefully the whole team can take a few more steps and play better in the finals, else the gold will be Canadas.
 
The first perfectly executed game from Sweden in this tournament. Good pp, good bp, effective, great goalkeeping. The only mistake in the game was in the first period when Finland scored.

Edit: was that blood on Lundqvists jersey?

The US dropped the ball big time, and they got out coached if you can believe it.

Sad really, because:

A) The US would have been a way bigger challenge for team Sweden and

B) That game would have been way more fun to watch

Lundqvist has been fine. He has allowed some goals, but the defense has been seriously suspect on all of them. Sure, if you don't understand his rebound play where he actively tries to shove the puck out to players of his own colours, it looks strange sometimes.

Lundqvist has been just fine.

If Finland would have won i wouldent have been suprised tbh.

USA won over Sweden with 4-3 without Bäckström, Nylander and Lundqvist. Pretty significant additions.

Exactly. For some reason we never learn to play against Sweden. Only against USA and Russia..
 
Better team won, clearly. Kind of glad to see that Sweden's coaching and team chemistry looks finally balanced.
