I know Canada is far from their best roster, but even Switzerland is missing a few NHL'ers and key pieces.

There's always a chance, but it's somewhat rock-paper-scissors in these tournaments. Sweden has never struggled playing Switzerland, while they've struggled alot beating Russia and Canada. I wouldn't bet the rent on Switzerland. Switzerland plays kind of like Sweden, only Sweden has better players for the job.

As a ardent observer of international hockey since I was 10 years old...

I don't believe that anymore... this is the best chance the Swiss have ever had at gold...

I wonder why attacking players don't go for the puck when they're offside. Leaving the puck gives the other team possession, while taking it creates a faceoff. Second option is better.

Lots of offensive pressure but just can't get a puck through the goaltending. Isn't Genoni their #2? I thought Berra was their top goalie but haven't followed. Feel like I'm not seeing enough of McDavid considering the circumstances and time left.....

It almost reminds me of Hyman with Matthews. There isn't enough skill beside McDavid there

Isn't intentional offsides the call if they clearly want the whistle? The faceoff will be in their own end if the ref notices that the offsides was clearly deliberate

Yeah sad to see.

Goaltending has been the biggest weakness for Canada. This happens sometimes, it happens to everyone. Good to laugh when your team is already out.

The second time this tournament the goaltending is blamed on a team that didn’t score.

Damn these goalies. Go score more goals.
