With Canada out my country is no longer in gold contention. As disappointed as I am i'm still happy too see my Habs prospects in it too get a taste of what our future can be. with Cayden Primeau and Ryan Poehling playing on USA, Alexander Romanov playing for Russia and Jesse Ylonen playing on Finland.

Game 1: USA V.S Russia
Probably the strongest 2 teams in the tourney playing in the semis (Russia being 5-0-0 and USA being 4-0-1) this is aimed to be a very good game with both teams having awesome well rounded teams.

Russia has the #1 GPG #1 rated PP #2 rated PK and #3 in SV% as a team. Russia being lead by Denisenko, Kravtsov and Kostin offensively who have all had great tourneys offensively. Defensively is where Russia has really excelled way above the rest of the competition with Romanov and Alexeyev being arguably the best 2 defenders in the whole tourney putting up 7 points and 6 points while being a +7 and +10. These 2 have definitely stolen the show and has taken most of the spot light but Samorukov has been very solid defensively as well carrying a +8 for himself. To wrap up my summary of the Russian squad will be talking about one of the best goalies of the tourney Kochetkov he has been awesome, although the defense in front of him definitely helps he is posting a .965 SV% with a 1.05 GAA. those stats are awesome and there isn't much more too that.

USA on the other hand hasn't been as deep and their team stats are not near as good as Russia being #5 GPG #2 rated PP #1 rated PK and #7 in SV% still good stats for PP and PK but GPG and SV% are not near as good as Russia and that could be an issue looking at the difference of stats between the 2 teams. Team USA has been a solid team all tourney and have strong pieces offensively and defensively like Poehling, Robertson, Farabee and Norris being strong offensively and carrying impressive +/- not top mention having Jack Hughes back helped them in the last game and will continue to do so. Defensively Russia Blows USA out of the water especially in defensive scoring with USA having their highest point obtaining defender being Anderson with 4 points. I understand that points dont always display how well defenders have been doing as Quinn Hughes and Miller have been playing well but in comparison nothing even close too Russia. Again to wrap my USA breakdown I will talk about their #1 goalie Cayden Primeau who has been good so far. Good stats having a .933 SV% with a 1.33 GAA, nothing too laugh at by any means the difference being the defensive core on Russia being able to assist Kochetkov more then USA can support Primeau.

Result: Russia
I believe that Russia will come out on top although I believe it will be a close game and I wouldn't be to surprised if USA can pull it off

Game 2: Finland V.S Switzerland
both teams have put in an awesome effort this tourney and have definitely made a name for themselves to reconfirm that they are no joke. with very similar records coming into the game Finland being 3-2-0 and Switzerland being 2-2-1

I'm not going to go into as much detail as I did for the Russia and USA game because personally I'm not as interested in it. Im sorry to all the Finland and Switzerland Fans. None the less i think its going to be another close game as both teams have been doing awesome, I am going to give the edge to Finland although Switzerland has done awesome and I wouldn't be too surprised if they did it.

Result: Finland
I believe Finland will be able to take a win here regardless of Switzerland being so hot thus far

just happy that Russia and USA do not play Finland and Switzerland. Those teams might be high after eliminating two powerhouses and could be extremly dangerous. I'm going for Russia vs Switzerland in the finals, because why not?

Finland is a junior Powerhouse too. They won 4 Gold Medals in last 5 Yeas(U20 and U18).

If Finland makes it to the final, they are the underdogs against either USA/RUS based on the tournament results. Russia is #1 team in the tournament with 0 losses and USA beat Finland quite convincingly, some way disagree with that but at least I thought it was convincing.

So since being in the underdog position is the best position in hockey quite often, Finland takes the gold, that is if they can handle being the favorites against SUI. I'm pretty worried about the Swiss. They were very impressive against Sweden and I've noticed that all their tournament games and practice matches they've put up some kind of a fight so this game will be the same as well, a war.

USA also played several games without their best player...the stats difference in a small tourney and such a small amount of games is insignificant.

Jack Hughes is not their best player. he is good don t get me wrong. but no way is he the best player on the team

The Fin-Sui game brings me horrible memories from last men's WC. They won both Finland and Canada. Now they have already won over Sweden so are we the next one to lose? Hope not.

Okay that tournament has literally nothing to do with this one so I go ahead and say 3-2 Finland. Looking forward to a great game.

FIN - SUI: Finns will score one over the Swiss team and it'll be low scoring, so 1-0 or 2-1. There's also a possibility in which Finland's player's present their actual goal scoring ability for a change and throw in like 5 or 6. I don't see the Swiss scoring more than 3 goals, Finland just does not give up a lot of chances.

Can't say much about the other game, but I just have a hunch that the US won't go down easily even if Russia has been real good.
