My question is, why does someone have to go into the box to serve his 10 while he's off getting repairs? There's less than 10 minutes left in the period, so it's not like he's coming out of the box this period anyway

Not is he coming out on the fly anyway. But someone has to serve.

Just take the reffing as amusement or something. The real story is that Finland allowed 3 goals within 5 minutes of the opening period. You don't come back from that against Canada.

There was accidental stick contact which probably should be a penalty.

I doubt he intentionally got him in the face, but it should have been called

They should have, but they didn't. They should have given a high sticking penalty here, but they haven't. Bad officiating mistakes in both games.

Based on the replays the score is well deserved. Awful mistakes by Finnish players. And a great shot by McMichael in the 1st goal.

While i agree that was way too late, i don't think the correct response is to slash the dude in the face.

But hey, seems like some people think it was the right thing to do.

The slash was unintentional and came from Addison stick sliding up the Finn stick if I saw correctly. Still Addison fault because you have to control your stick, but people are right saying it would not have happened if the shot was not taken and the stick stayed on the ice.

If a Canadian player got an uncalled high sticked to the face very clearly... and then was given a 10 minute misconduct for a "late shot"... and then couldn't serve the misconduct due to getting stitches for the uncalled high stick... and so another Canadian player had to serve the misconduct...

Yeah... I'd be freaking furious. What a gong show.
