I voted USA but think they're at least equal to and possibly better than Canada.

Finland is dramatically worse than the other 3 teams. 1-2 high end guys at position when the other team's all have at least 4-5.

Top to bottom, the USA has the best and deepest team. They should be the favorites heading in.

Both Binnington and Hill have a cup. Both step up their game on the big stage
Considering goaltending is the most system based position and any half decent to average goalie in the NHL can be good enough to win a Cup on a stacked team (Niemi, Kuemper etc) you're not really proving a point. Antti Niemi vs Michael Leighton in the NHL finals was comical.

Canada is kind of unimpressive behind the forwards. Are they really #1?

ffs Parakyo is on the team. Coming from an Avs fan the Toews pick is also questionable. He has taken a step back and is not the guy he was a couple seasons ago. If Makar didn't exist Toews would not be on that team.

I'd say the US is the favorite this go around. No forwards like McDavid or MacKinnon but solid top to bottom, no weaknesses.

McDavid, MacKinnon & Crosby will bring a level of intensity that Matthews, Hughes & Eichel will have a hard time matching.

Even with subpar goaltending, until someone else beats Canada in a best on best, they have to remain the favorites.

Finland will come out with more structure and tenacity than anyone. Sweden lacks the game-breakers up front but they still have an insane lineup.

I think it comes down to what goalie gets hot and what team can develop an identity over such a short time.

Canada can ice two teams and neither of them will have a true starting goalie.
I saw a Team USA B squad and even their 3 goalies were better than the top Canadian goalie.

Considering goaltending is the most system based position and any half decent to average goalie in the NHL can be good enough to win a Cup on a stacked team (Niemi, Kuemper etc) you're not really proving a point. Antti Niemi vs Michael Leighton in the NHL finals was comical.
It sounds like what your saying is goaltending is irrelevant so long as the team in front plays the right way, which basically nullifies USAs greatest advantage over Canada.

I feel team Canada passed on some very good players, Scheifele, Dobson, Bouchard, Johnston. I sure the hell would of chosen them over Bennett, Parayko, Sanheim and Hagel. Still a very good Canadian team, but some bizarre choices made imo. I feel they are icing Coopers and Co Stanley Cup favorites, not necessarily the best team thay they could've iced.

Team USA looks like the favorites here imo.

Everyone is testing for olympics, which matters much more. Hard to see them snuffing Scheifele then.

All of the 4 nations teams are filled with guys who play against eachother every night.

Finland will come out with more structure and tenacity than anyone.
That's a rather high expectation after two practice days. More likely there's a group of players without much structure to speak of and then it comes down to things like individual chemistry. Playing in front of their own fans Team USA and Team Canada have a lot more to prove, for the Finns and the Swedes it's going to be more about taking the first steps towards the Olympics.
