It's been a while since airchair GM'ing has been this much fun..

Depth FW: Aston-Reese, Shore, Gambrell, Bellows/Koivula, Lind
Depth D: whoever's left of the 3rd pairing extravaganza, Hanley, Strand

Side deals: weaponize cap space to pick up Killorn, trade one or two of the D for the needy for picks/AHL prospects, sign an AHL goalie or two from overseas.

What are the rumored picks ?

I have:

FLA: Chris Driedger (G)
PHI: Robert Hagg (D)
STL: Vladimir Tarasenko (F)
TOR: Alex Kerfoot (F)

Looking through the last part of the thread series...I can't help but chuckle every time I see someone post their results, having left the Wild exposed list alone, not taking anyone from us.

After pick 29
Bettman: Okay, the Expansion Draft is complete. Thank you everyone, and welcome to the NHL Seattle! Have a good night!

Billy Guerin: *Looks guiltily to his left and right, slowly gathers his things together while whistling innocently*

Francis: Umm... Mr. Commissioner? Aren't we forgetting something?

Billy Guerin: *Looking back nervously, quickens his pace and runs for the door*

Bettman: I don't think so, we're done here.

Francis: But we didn't get our pick in from Minnesota!

Bettman: *Looks towards the Wild table, sees it empty, glances at the door only to see it hastily closing on some papers that are fluttering in the air*

Bettman: I'm sorry, my bad, but what's done is done, I said it was over and they left. The Expansion Draft is already over. Your pick from Minnesota is forfeitted by the league. Welcome to the NHL.

a 7 Mil Tarasenko who hasn't played much in two years over Vince Dunn?

Don't see Kerfoot in danger of being taken unless Toronto pays them to not take McCann.

The Athletic ran an article on how Dallas has essentially funneled Seattle towards selecting either the injury-plagued Bishop, the pending UFA in Oleksiak, or a cluster of bottom six talent (Comeau, Dowling, L'Esperance, etc.). Didn't really give them much in the way of enticing options, at least not in the same way other teams have done. Trading away Dickinson took away their most likely option, IMO.

I think Seattle rolls the dice on Bishop....unless they take Price instead.

I think Sekera or Comeau are more likely than Bishop. Sure they're not great but they're experienced NHL players , have only 1 year left and they're cheap and can easily flipped . Seravalli has Seattle take Comeau . With Bishop there's just too much risk that you're stuck with a someone expensive that won't play much for you if at all.

I would go with L'Esperance.

The expansion fee for Minnesota was only 80M. Not comparable.
NHL also wasn't in near as strong of financial shape either. They were happy to get that number for expansion at the time.

Doesn't mean they didn't over do it with the rules with Vegas and Seattle.
