Stuck between a rock and a hard place for playoff match ups.

I am hoping New York somehow sneaks up on Carolina and takes the first spot and we are in wild card. That would be the best possible match up.

Otherwise you get Florida, Tampa or Carolina. Again those are all teams that I think we can beat but by no means is it anything more than a coin toss. I just want the playoffs to start.

Depending on how all those fun late season games go against Florida, I want Tampa in the first round. Wanna be the best, gotta beat the best.

For that to happen ,
NYR would have to be ranked #1 and TO #8

Thanks @zeke for the numbers.

I find it crazy that the team sits where it does in the standings, and are still "underperforming" according to the xf stats slight as it may be. That is encouraging despite the little dip in defensive play recently (NYI game excluded).

florida's numbers are skewed and i can see them dropping off a bit. they have a ridiculous home record but a very mediocre road record (plus they have played 7 more games at home). look at the road record for the top 4 teams in the conference (not including florida). these teams win twice the games they lose and florida sits at just 7-5-5 on the road.

Blue in every single category at all strengths. Pretty cool.

Funnily enough, the weakest part of the team so far this year has been.....goaltending.

So we've clearly sprung a leak. Goaltending is becoming an issue. Its maybe being covered up a bit still thanks to special teams work which are arguably more team-dependant than goalie dependant.

I'm still not too worried - I think Jack should be fine - but it's definitely starting to become a concern.

Crazy we're creeping up to being top 5 in literally every category other than goaltending (and therefore goals against).

@zeke can you direct me to a site or if its present on this board somewhere the key advanced stats from the leaf game last night. I wanted to see how much the stats matched the eye test. Appreciate it, thanks.
