Feel free to put in players based on trades as well as FA signings. If the Rangers are meeting with Panarin, to me he's a Ranger. When they go after somebody they want, they pretty much get him all the time.

A bit nervous about cap space. Need to dump Names, Vesey, Staal, Shatty and Smith. Need to make room for Trouba and Kreider. We also need to make room for players who will conclude their ELCs in the coming years. If he’s indeed asking for $11-12mm, I’m not interested, and I expect to see MZ or CK lead scoring.

KK and VK might surprise us nicely — but I wouldn’t bet on anything spectacular. Hard to provide numbers at this point.

Sad to say those Lias projections look rosy to me. All kidding aside, those figures look pretty realistic, though I could see ADA scoring a few more goals and possibly even Staal scoring none.

- Kravtsov is missing
- It's Kakko, not Kappo
- Panarin isn't a Ranger (yet)
- A rookie hitting 69 points is a huge stretch

Sorry, forgot Kravtsov. Figuring him in. I believe Vesey, Namestnikov and Fast will all be dealt before the season. They should be. Get rid of them before the expansion draft and let the kids get experience.

That’s a lot of cap room.

the expansion draft is 2 years away...those guys have 1 year left on their contracts, so don't think we have to worry about the expansion draft lol

we really don't have alot of forward depth in hartford...people want to move every vet not named zibanejad out but why? aside from Kratsov and Kakko what forward prospects need to be in the lineup?

Lets say Kakko & Kratsov make the team...then add Zibanejad, Kreider, Buchnevich, Strome, Namestnikov, Vesey, Chytil, Andersson, Howden, Lemieux, Fast and Nieves...thats 14 forward. we'll probably carry 13 forwards/8 dmen since we can't move smith or shattenkirk. so 1 guy from that list gets moved or nieves gets waived

if you move out more than that then you probably have to replace those guys with UFA signings anyway

299 goals from 16 players, would be 2nd in the league last year.

I will come back to this in September.

For now, a few early stock leans. My two cents:

Howden - buy
Hajek - buy
Fast - buy
Georgiev - buy
Deangelo - buy
Namestnikov - buy

Buchnevich - sell
Chytil - sell
Strome - sell
Lias - sell (ha)
Vesey - banish

CK and Trouba plus any other UFA next year. Panarin at $11mm is nuts though.

we can afford trouba's raise...the players mentioned are on the final year of their contracts so their cap hits will be gone after this year before a CK extension goes into effect if we sign him or another ufa next year.

a ton of $$ tied up in hank, staal, smith and shattenkirk for next year, but the only forward not on an ELC beyond this year is zibanejad...most likely will add buchnevich and lemieux to that after they resign this year. but not much cap space to clear among the forwards...

25 mil tied up among hank, staal, smith and shattenkirk but good luck moving any of them
