Was he any good? Played a decent amount of NHL games, was it just becuse he was Chris brother or could Sean actually play?

He was a serviceable 3rd-4th liner with the Ducks for most of his brief career. Much less physical than his brother and not one to drop the gloves. Overall, didn't do anything particularly well and was forgettable. Once he left Anaheim, he because a 4th liner/AHL'er.

Interesting guy. I met him through...something...once...I think he works in finance now.

He played for the Pens in the forgettable '98 ECQF vs Montreal. He was...not...useful/good as an NHLer. No.

he played on the canucks but i never noticed him on the ice

but i think he was like an AHL version of chad kilger or bob corkum?

i still feel cheated that we never got to see a kariya - pronger - fedorov fourth line on the canucks. they also just missed each other by a year on the mose. if only burke hadn’t traded kariya for mikki jokela, who never played anyway…

AHL player and he was in the NHL only because of his brother. He was bad even as a 4th liner. If your team played him for more that 5 mins a game you had a terrble team.

ECHL star player and AHL second liner.

typical DPE bottom 6 player who didn't do anything particularly well. played most of his career with the ducks and columbus with a lot of time spent in the AHL and IHL in between those stints

according to teemu selanne, when he first heard of the chris pronger to anaheim trade he thought the ducks were getting sean

I’ll always think of him in the context of the Steve Moore - Todd Bertuzzi incident. He was roughing up Moore at the boards before Bertuzzi did what he did. What if Pronger fought Moore. The Bertuzzi incident might not have happened.

i haven't watched that game or any footage from it since the night it happened but iirc, didn't steve moore steadfastly refuse to fight anyone who wasn't smaller than him all night?

edit: clarified

The great Sean Pron-Jovi. Jean Pronger (en Francais like manger, plonger, etc). Sean P-Diddy Crumbs.

Not dumping on the guy but it's interesting that he suited up for 7 NHL teams and scored 0 goals for four of them, 1 goal for 1 and hit double digits (10, 12) for the other two. Makes me wonder what the record is for most teams played-for with zero goals.

I forgot he played with the Rangers. Completely forgettable. But I looked it up and we did trade him for a semi serviceable player in Eric Lacroix. He was also traded from Anaheim to Pittsburgh for Patrik Lalime.

He fought Matt Cooke. Wasn’t he similar size? Anyway I still can’t believe the whole thing happened.

i just clarified my earlier post, which i worded wrong.

i'm not defending what happened to him, the whole thing was beyond stupid. but matt cooke is 5'11 and steve moore is 6'2. early on moore was challenged by bigger players and refused them, and then said ok to cooke. that's partially what enraged bertuzzi.

sean pronger is a pronger. i just don't think there's a chance in hell moore would have fought him.

No one’s gone goalless for more teams than Dallas Eakins.

He played for the Jets/Coyotes, Panthers, Blues, Rangers, Maple Leafs, Islanders and Flames — that’s 7 franchises (8 if you separate the Jets and Coyotes) — without ever scoring a goal.

None of the skaters who played for 8 or more NHL franchises went goalless for 7 of them, but I haven’t checked whether Eakins’ record is tied with others. I’m pretty sure Eakins has the most NHL games played over the largest amount of franchises without scoring a goal.

He was a very mediocre bottom sixer who had decent balance, average hands, and leaden feet. He looked pretty good his first couple of years and fell off hard and fast. Sean Kuraly reminds me of him, except Kuraly has slightly better than average speed and is a far better bottom six player. His last team was the Bruins I think, and he had absolutely nothing.
