What do you think?
Wright to Toronto. Hildeby to Seattle.
Maybe a low draft pick going one way or the other as well... or not.
TORONTO perspective
Wright isn't looking to be the player he was drafted to be. That being said, there's clearly some sort of potential there. Maybe Treliving and Berube think they can unlock it by buying low on him. Hildeby is one of the better goalie prospects around, but he isn't Askarov, Wallstedt, Cossa level. With Stolarz and Woll working out well now, and then Woll and Akhtyamov for the future, Hildeby could be considered a luxury perhaps. Wright is a hometown kid who grew up near Toronto, and that might make him "wake up" and get his s__t together. Who knows? Berube's tough love could do the trick as well, maybe.
SEATTLE perspective
At this point, this is selling Wright now before his value drops further and further down to nothing eventually. This trade would be made with the mindset that they aren't going to be able to salvage Wright, and in the eyes of Seattle, the kid is a bust. Why not grab a very good goalie prospect for him while you still can? Daccord is the goalie for now, and Grubauer is here for a little while until a trade or a buyout happens, but Hildeby could be the guy long-term if he ends up better than Daccord. Chasing after a higher-end goalie prospect isn't a huge need for Seattle, but the key here is getting something good for Wright before he becomes a worthless asset.
NOTES
One team could add a 5th or 6th or 7th rounder if needed to make the deal fairer. Perhaps an AHL goalie like Stezka could go to Toronto and/or a depth NHL forward like Dewar could go to Seattle, if that seems to help both teams with depth issues. Neither has notable value, but it could be mutually beneficial for depth purposes.
