No team will publically say when a recent signing will start playing just to keep opposing teams guessing.Expected to be part of the road trip when we play Calgary and Winnipeg. No date set for debut yet though.
Buffalo just did. So there is that. Also, let's not expect these guys to start tearing up the NHL in their first game itself. Setting realistic expectations would be ideal. No team will publically say when a recent signing will start playing just to keep opposing teams guessing.

It really does not matter if the opponents know or not. That is my point, This is not like a playoff matchup or suiting up a specific goalie against an opponent. We are talking about 19 year old kids making their debuts in the NHL. Teams are not going to game plan against them.I believe buffalo said possible toronto game for power doesn't mean that's when he'll actually start.

Can’t wait to see him play. He’s gonna be a great pro - I’m not sure if he will end up the #2 guy from the draft 10 years from now given the upside of some of the guys selected after him (also would not be shocked if he is though) but I think he was the right pick for Seattle after Power was off the board.
He will be a championship caliber 2c for a long time in this league. In a normal draft you’d like to get those guys at 6-15 and not OA but last year was a weak draft so it was a fine pick. My guess is Seattle is targeting 2023 as the draft where they potentially land their future 1c.Can’t wait to see him play. He’ll take home more money than most that sign for 925k for teams in markets with income tax. He also got signing and performance bonuses that bring the annual to like 1.85m a year. It’s just the cap hit that is 897.Why would he sign for less than 925K? It's not like Seattle doesn't have Cap room.
Sabres did the same with Power. They moved some of the salary to performance bonuses for year 1. This allows them to give games played bonuses. Power got the max of 25k for a 5 games played bonus. Beniers likely got that plus a bonus for 10 games played since he should be able to get into their line-up for Tuesday. Power wasn't able to get into the Sabres game vs the Lightning so he couldn't hit that 10 game threshold. Why would he sign for less than 925K? It's not like Seattle doesn't have Cap room.
He and Owen Power are getting the full 925k for the second and third years of their contracts, but these college guys who burn their first year while only playing a month don't exactly have the leverage to ask for every last penny in that first year. Why would he sign for less than 925K? It's not like Seattle doesn't have Cap room.
