Confirmed Trade: [SEA/DAL] Mason Marchment for 2025 4th, 2026 3rd

Dallas need to get the cap space and people underestimate the attraction of Seattle as a city and they’re ridiculously nice arena and practices plus proximity to Vancouver… and no state income taxes :-)

Absolute steal for Seattle, maybe Toronto is on his 10 team no trade and there is nothing he could have done.

But on the surface Treliving missed out here.

This is low. I wonder if this has to do with past trades

Really isn't. It's what a trade looks like when you have no leverage and/or trade protection involved. Similar to the Stastny/Schmidt/Fleury/Pacioretty trades Vegas made to clear cap.

if only he could have reigned in taking penalties and/or kept his scoring touch
i was prepared to be keeping him with a new coach to talk sense to him

diet tkachuk without the scoring or the flavor

The 4th Seattle gave up originally belonged to Dallas. It went from Dallas to NYR in 2022 as part of the Lundkvist trade, and then from NYR to Seattle in 2024 in the Wennberg trade.

Great trade for the Kraken. Decent Bjorkstrad replacement. At the same time, Dallas gets to send him to a place where he's not likely coming back to bite them.

He was putrid in the playoffs. The Stars had a lot of passengers this post-season, but all throughout the Stars-Jets series I thought to myself "man I'm sure glad that guy isn't on my team". The dives were non-stop, the refs clearly hate him, his production was awful. Just a roach of a player. I'm not surprised the return sucked.

Well I said a couple hours ago Marchment had positive value. I was right but way underestimated how little of positive value he would have.
