Seattle trades:
Philipp Grubauer
Joonas Donskoi

Chicago trades:
Jonathan Toews

For Seattle really a move to get out of Grubauer contract long term, but it also gets a recognizable name to market to the fans next year.

Chicago decides to give Grubauer a chance to be their answer in goal for 5.9 million a year after one bad year on an expansion team.

Toews decides "I don't want to be a burden" and agrees to waive NTC.

I think the Kraken would definitely consider this. It is dicey, though, as Driedger has only been marginally better than Grubauer all season and our team defense and coaching might be the real culprits.

Toews for a year might be a good role model for our younger forwards in the way that Giordano has been with Liljegren in Toronto.

Yep, their looking the other way/60 stats are going to be off the charts.

Why is CHI doing this? It's almost the same net dollar amount next year, while CHI takes on an additional 5 years of Grubrauer without any compensation? No chance at all. Just terrible.

EDIT: Also, why the hell would Toews waive for Seattle? He wants to win. He's not doing that in Seattle.

Who does Chicago expect to have as a starter next year? Grubauer is obviously having an awful season, but he was a (distant) third in Vezina voting last year. I don't think he's a lost cause.

I don’t think he’s a lost cause at all and I actually like Grubauer but rebuilding teams should not be taking on reclamation projects with 5 years of term without getting something alot more enticing in return. He would literally have the second longest length contract on the hawks.

No thanks.

Grubauer is very capable of being a top goalie..... he is possibly one goalie coach away from that. Get him with the right goalie coach and I bet he impresses. To be honest, I do not really judge any of the Kraken players for their performance....Leadership picked the most hauge-pauge little rascals like team that they possibly could. Had I been a goalie showing up to that roster after seeing the players they passed over I'm thinking "WTF, who did i tick off?"
