I just mentioned that I thought this 3 game series could have ramifications for our expiring contracts. I mean Strome and DeAngelo really did nothing to convince anyone they are playoff players. Fast if nothing else has proven he is a competitor. I don't know how this will shake out now.

Carolina at best wins two more series. they don't have the horse to go with the elite teams. and the laughable duo of mrazek/Reimer is not helping either. they're good enough to get out of the early rounds but eventually they will be exposed bad. they are this year's comparable to the 2010 flyers tandem of Leighton/boucher

I really think if Hank is okay with being the backup then this is the smartest move. Get something for Georgiev and run with Igor as the starter and don’t deal with dead cap especially considering we have two years of a flat cap coming up.

Lots of good pieces here but the mentality needs to change for this rebuild to succeed. This team doesn't have the puck enough. That's been the problem since we're drawing on cave walls.

Having Hank has been wonderful but we abused that privilege. Even with Hank, "let's just give up the zone because we have our security blanket" doesn't work. We watched it not work for years.

It's really not an issue now because the roster has holes. We knew that. But I don't want them going down the same road with Shestyorkin.

Our Stanley Cup appearance team had very good possession numbers, no?

Well, this team was carried by its top 6 all season and they didn't get the job done this round. When they're not producing, you're pretty much dead when your bottom 6 consists of varying degrees of McKegg, Howden, Fogarty, and DiGiuseppe.

We get to make two first round picks again and perhaps upgrade at the head coach position.

DQ preaches effort and improvement but sooner or later we are going to need strategy and a system once our younger players start to mature.
