Never been happier to see the team lose.

A. I was right.
B. Gaffe for laf
C. All the whining c lowns twisting themselves into pretzels to blame Hank absolutely deserve to see their teams lose. Goalies can elevate teams. They cannot elevate teams from not even worthy of the playoffs into cup champs. Hank got f***ed by this organization his whole career with a below par team, below par coaching and it f***ed him out of multiple cups. So how appropriate this series was. Yet dumb clowns still tried to lay it all, or even partially on hank.

Oh but Igor! Igor! His puck playing! He'd have DEFINITELY stopped every shot there bc of his better reflexes and speed!

Yea ok pal. How's that working for you? That's not how goaltending works. That's not how the sport works. Team is bad. We idiotically rushed the roster with trouba, pan and resigning ck. And a lot of you just eat it up. Yum

The most important aspect you can take from this series is that IT EXPOSED EVERYONE.

Fast is actually one of the most important players on our team and Quinn said it himself, it was a huge loss when he went down. Like PuckLuck said, we need more guys like him depending on the price. He isn't flashy but those are the guys who help you win playoff games.
Agreed and while I haven't agreed with the guys saying our bottom 6 is why we lose games, we just witnessed how important it is to ice NHLers. Running out Howden and McKegg all the time without Fast and Lemieux was atrocious. I think it is super important to keep both guys and have them bounce back between 3/4 along with Gauthier as long as Quinn plays him. Kakko takes Fast's spot and then hopefully Kravstov is ready for 3rd line duties.

I still like Chytil going forward but like another poster said a few days ago, he always leaves you wanting more.

Assuming we don't make any big changes/trades/buyouts we need a C who can win faceoffs. McKegg 49, Zib 49, Howden 48, Strome 47, Chytil 38. No one over 50%.

I don't know what to do with Strome. If he takes a team friendly deal that's fine because I do like how him and Panarin have been together but he doesn't bring much besides that. I think 2-3 year if it's a friendly deal and we draft his replacement now. I don't see us going far anytime soon with Zib-Strome-Chytil-Howden though. Can't see Quinn letting anyone try to get rid of Howden.

If we can get into the playoffs next season that would be exciting for the potential debuts of Nils, K'Andre and Barron.

He didn’t lose the game for us.

We managed to score 4 goals in 3 games against the team that had arguably the worst goaltending in the postseason.

The team lost the game. Not any individual. Except kinda Marc Staal. f*** that guy.
Dont take everything so literal
Its an obvious exaggeration because most games he does suck yet this game he was earning his 8 mil til the turnover..
His gaffe was just the nail in the coffin
By no means do i think we win the game if that turnover doesnt happen

When you score 4 times in 3 games the goalie is not the nail in the coffin. Hes buried by the shit in front of him

I dont even have this crazy love for him, I've been openly vocal Bout his shit contract.

I'm also openly vocal against the Neanderthals blaming him for this series or for us never winning a cup. Which if you were here you'dknow that the former was rampant across the board and the latter reared its head a few times too. You think criticizing people who blamed it on hank/ prayed to saint Igor is really that over the top?

Aside from a short spurt from 2012-2015 he WAS saddled w sub par teams. None of those 2012-2015 forward lineups were world beaters either. Especially 2012. That was the most classic case of an overachieving team. Loved them but we all knew even as we watched that we were seeing a mirage talent wise

At best he had a team led by nash, stepan, kreider, mcd and good but not great players. Not cup caliber.

Torts? AV? We saw their sub par coaching. So wheres the "over the top"?

We definitely need to improve the bottom 6 imo, if we are playing a cycle game, we need the players for it up and down the lineup. For my own sanity, i can't watch McKegg and Digisueppe on this team anymore.

The lack of bottom six talent is staggering. This has to change.
These players keep it together when your top six need it.

The fact that this team is filled with John Doe type players in the bottom 6 is laughable

Totally agree. They got a ton of bounces, all the puck luck, and scored on most of their primo chances. The Rangers were snakebit. When Panarin got stoned on that early breakaway today I should have known fortune was not on our side. A win was not on the cards.
But I'm still very optimistic about this team. I just hope a *regular* season can be played next year.
The harder you work, the luckier you get.

BTW, anybody see Zibanejad? Gorton should put out and APB.

agreed 100% but filling the bottom 6 has never been our issue. we were missing top end talent. once that talent is in place, the bottom 6 is the easy part. plus we need to keep in mind that our cap situation impacted our depth this year. after next year when a ton of $$ comes off the books and kids like barron are hopefully ready I think things will look alot better in the bottom 6. but we need to be patient

I'm not debating the importance of players like Fast, especially in the playoffs, but if you need to rely one ONE top 9 player as your "X -factor"...
You're in a lot of trouble already.

Got to see things for what they are here.. a possible playoff bubble team that got an invite to attend the playoffs after a pandemic break.

An aging former star goalie who can save the team anymore (and shouldn't have to), one of the weakest, most underdeveloped defensive corps, to be seen in a rangers line up.

Absolutely no bottom 6 talent whatsoever.

A possible 2nd line? I want no part of paying a player like Strome, because of his chemistry with Panarin.

Zib, Kreids, and Panarrinn, just couldn't do enough to overcome the above.

Did losing Ruff hurt them? Maybe?
I'm not a huge fan of Quinn, but it is still early.

Gorton has done what he should up until now, but this is where its really going to matter. Some of these trades seem like washes to me.

Losing Anderson leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I'm getting tired of big money throw at top 4 defenseman who are merely good.

Now just wait one minute here, are you saying that we should prioritize building the team in front of the goalie in a structured system rather than trying to build from the net out over this next decade? Crazy idea, but it just might work
