He literally missed the first two of 3 games to injury
Did he look injured to you? I didnt get the feeling that he was hampered by anything.

No doubt. I guess I should just emphasise that the words he said are what you'd expect, but what stood out to me was the noticeable change in demeanor when he answered that particular topic. Thanks for sharing homeslice!
Basically the ultimate praises you give a legend when he's about to leave. Also CK looked like he was in pissed off shock the whole time answering questions, but when henke came up his attitude changed and it was very much extreme respect towards him when talking about him. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but there was a noticeable shift of how he answered the henke question compared to the others.

Oy vey. One of the many comments in here that is just absurd.
Let's point out a few things:
1. This was not a real playoff series. Teams go into the playoffs after 7 months of growing and building as a team. Young players find their grooves. Teams that were not gelled at the beginning of the season now are clicking on all cylinders, etc. This is a COVID Cup tournament, that is strictly being played to salvage some of the lost revenue. Having a 4 month layoff (actually longer than many offseasons) and then playing one warm up game before hopping into the 'playoffs' is just ridiculous.
2. To blame any of these players for their performance is equally ridiculous. We have no idea how their last 4 months looked like. And I highly doubt it looked like a traditional off-season. What was their workout regime like? Did some suffer from COVID? Were their family members suffering? Were they even able to skate? Judging any of these players on a 3 game performance after one of the most unique 'off-seasons' in history, is just crazy (especially when you've watched Panarin for 70+ games).
3. This team exceeded all expectations this year. Lest we forget how solid they looked in the final stretch. They are growing, maturing, have a ton of young and established talent and really took a huge leap this year.
4. Finally, this is for the best. Giving us a chance at another high quality pick is far better than having a short playoff run (we're not winning the cup anyway) in front of no home or hostile fans, without the real magnitude or feel of what it actually means to play in a legitimate playoff game. It's not that I think this entire playoff tournament is worthless, but I do not think it will prepare rookies or young players for what's to come in an actual playoff series. The most important aspect of making the playoffs for young teams is to help them grow with that experience. This is nothing like that. The best teams are coming off a four-month hiatus and are not going in guns blazing and with no fans, it's really like a weird teenage tournament, rather than an actual series and I just don't believe it will prepare young players for what the reality will be in the future.
What did he say?CK answer about henke is kind of telling what the team thinks is coming
Scroll up, asked and answered haWhat did he say?
You could make an argument that playing in a neutral site with no fans actually proves who the best team is. These games had the physicality of legitimate playoff games. The layoff is unfortunate. Call it the Covid Cup if you want, but at the end of this tournament a team is going to get Lord Stanley's cup.
Their may not be a parade. You may not be able to see fans bang on the glass but the NHL is doing a good job...and after this year I'll be happy as hell if the Canes bring it down. Anyway good series. Rangers have some good pieces, some of their stars seemed to be missing a killer instinct though. Good luck and stay safe all.
Good news is, no chance Henrik retires like this. He's too much of a gamer. He'll play for 2 more years on league minimum backing up somewhere good.
No he was tremendous tonight. But not having him in first two games completely changed the series. We lost the game tonight when Chytil couldn’t bury a simple empty netter.
and of course the best players on paper Mika and Panarin were not the best players in this series. They were awful Mika especially
If no Laf, we should draft BPA, but I hope that prospect is a center.
Zibanejad, Panarin, heroes to zeroes in playoffs.
Kreider- talking about himself needing to get to that intensity level quicker. This, 1000%, and keep it up for 60 mins of a game, not just the first period. Such a headcase of a player.
Kakko- why did he disappear in the 3rd game though ? MVP of our playoff, him or Trouba.
Gauthier- mistakes or cuz he's a rookie, he's turning to be Quinn's new scapegoat
Chytil- you'd love to see a 20 yr old like him become a beast at 23-25... we really have to be patient, but it's hard to watch when our prospects just can't "put it together" quicker
Buchnevich- games 1-2 feisty, engaged, physical. I want to keep him
Strome, Howden, Staal, Smith, entire bottom 6, they're just so irrelevant, so meh, so bland, bad contracts, etc.... get rid of them.
Trouba is only player captain personality to me, but he's not our best player.
Lundqvist= King forever
Just my thoughts. Fun regular season, and NHL has done a fantastic job imo with these bubbles & covid playoffs. I guess I'm rooting for McDavid & Draisaitl now to go far.
They were a much better team, at least in the first half of the game. They didn’t get the bounces, and the Hurricanes did. Igor didn’t let up any bad goals. Most of us knew that Hank wasn’t the issue, just that Igor could possibly do more to help. And I’ll admit it didn’t help as much as I thought it would.I thought Shesterkin was supposed to make them a better team, transition better, leading to more goals, stopping a higher percentage of shots, just making the team superior in every way.
Lundqvist was a .901 and Shesterkin was a .900.
Maybe Lundqvist wasn't the problem in this series? People made him sound like he can't play at the NHL level. That he was most to blame for their struggle. Yet we see Shesterkin come in, and not a lot changed. End result was still the same.
Gained major respect for Svechnikov this week. I want one of those.
That kid's already a monster, but he's only going to get betterGained major respect for Svechnikov this week. I want one of those.
He certainly wasnt bad or the one deserving of the blame for the loss but I wouldnt say that he was tremendous.
He posted almost a sub .900 save % (i know save % wont tell the entire story but still, not good enough and worse than any of Hanks previous 2 games) and didnt bring anything really that different compared to Hank when all said and done.
For all your talk about the team needing 4-5 goals on any given night when Hank starts and that you cant see us losing with Igor in net, the team still needed to score 4+ to win tonight with Igor in net. Matter of fact, in Igors 13 starts this season (including tonight) he has been letting in 3+ goals in almost 50% of his starts.
Yeah i mean Kreider has been with Hank through all their years of contention. He must have immense respect for him with how good Hank was for that window after already being an established star before Kreider even got there.Basically the ultimate praises you give a legend when he's about to leave. Also CK looked like he was in pissed off shock the whole time answering questions, but when henke came up his attitude changed and it was very much extreme respect towards him when talking about him. Igor is far superior to Hank at this point. Igor was 10-2, 2.52 GA and .930 save %, all much better numbers than Hank not to mention he's a much better puck handler. Love Hank and wish him well.
Idk, I just won a championship in an empty arena and it was still f***ing better than sex.Imagine winning cup in an empty building with no fans. LMAO. And then you could not even have a parade and a real celebration LMAO. Rather take Lafreniere and win when the cup win really matters. This is a Covid cup. Who cares.
That’s fun too, though. And usually more fruitful. Now I have to go back to my old faithful of rooting against the Leafs with every fibre of my being.
Yeah. They play good defense and have some skill, but so does every team remaining. The Rangers I still think have just as much talent, or more, than Carolina. It just wasn’t the time.I see Carolina losing in 5 to their next opponent.
