With a couple of teams now dealing with injured starting goalies I was wondering if Scott Wedgewood would be on anyone's radar as a possible substitute. If so would the Devils be willing to trade him? If they are willing to make a move what would they be looking for?

Yeah I can see them dealing him. He was waived earlier in the season and we're pretty stacked in Albany for goalies (stacked enough at least). I think d prospects or picks would be the best return for us. What those pieces are I don't know.

Do you think they'd be interested in a contract dump if it meant a higher pick coming their way?

John Chayka calling.....

We'll see what happens with Smith and not sure Wedgewood is better than Domingue or even Peters.

wedgewood for jordan nolan and rob scuderi.

nolan has actually looked like an NHL player again and would add some serious size and grit for immediate impact with gazdic out. scuderi shouldn't be in the AHL and you guys have the cap to give him a shot @ 1.13 cap hit.

Lots of Devs fans would probably say Kincaid is available also..

This fan agrees
Kincaid.

He has more experience than Wedge, but I think Wedge ends up being better, so I would move kinky for a pick unless you have RWs to offer of similar value
Kinky makes a bout $200K more and the reason I think he got waived was that Kinky would have been picked up, this way both survived and we are talking now!

A 5th or 6th round pick?

No real reason for the Devils to do this. Either they trade him for a pick well above value or they take on a promising player with a cap dump. Otherwise, I don't see a real reason to trade him, especially when we need him since he seems to be the goalie we will be exposing for the expansion draft.

He is also needed a bit in Albany to insulate the two other goalies who are still very young.

I wouldn't see the point of trading him, Kinkaid is a UFA after this season so they will probably slide Wedge in as Cory's backup next year.

He would probably cost a 3rd at best. They could've lost him for nothing, getting a 3rd would be a win.

I'd rather trade Kinkaid, though.
