Sabourin is going to get a contract, that much is plain. The Kings have plenty of contract slots open, do they not?
What strikes me the most about from what I've seen from Sabourin is his confidence. I've only seen him at a couple practices and in the Ducks game, but he seems to really believe in himself. That's half the battle when trying to break into the NHL.

believe they are near the limit on open contract slots, but i'm sure if the Kings are impressed, they will get it done,
I wonder what the delay in announcing his deal is. Oh well. He will play on the 3rd in MCH.
They were at 44 before Cliché got claimed, so that would bring them to 43 of 50 (although technically MacDermid, doesn't count so I guess it's 42...) Trouble is there are guys like Brodzinski, Hyka, Lowry, Mersch, Prokhorkin, Ebert, Gravel, LaDue, Bartosak that can sign contracts after this year. So there are plenty of guys coming up soon that may be part of the equation.
Isn't there a pretty small window that teams can sign draft eligible players? Like only a couple of days around the end of camp and start of the regular season. That could be part of the silence as well. I vaguely remember MacDermid being in camp awhile, being sent back to Owen Sound and then the deal being announced.
I think you are right. I heard about it as a matter of fact thing last weekend so I just assumed that it had either been announced or would have been by now. Maybe I am premature.
Scott Sabourin signs a 3 year entry level deal today.
Sabourin should add 10-15 lbs of muscle.
He's fine the way he is.
Yes, but he'd better his chances if he were bigger and stronger. The guy's got 2 inches on Clifford and weighs about the same. He should be closer to Nolan's weight, but it's not an nhl killer if he didn't.
From what I've read, he's really impressed a lot of people and deserved the contract. The guy has to be pretty stoked now. Can he play left wing?[/QUOTE]
Why would you want him to? Andreoff seems to be playing both left wing and center as needed, and the Kings have Frattin, Clifford, King and Brown, and Manchester has Pearson, Kitsyn, and Andreoff on the left side. Just not room for him on that side. Plus I think Sabourin tops out at best as a fantastic 3rd line spot 2nd liner so keeping him on the right side where he'd likely slot in on the Kings (replacement for Nolan) is probably the best bet right now.
