Legit, Laughton was a very good pick, and put together a very nice career here. It's not his fault the Flyers couldn't be arsed to cash their chips in, year after year after year.

I wish him, and Toronto, the best this year. Not sure I'm riding with them all the way, but Laughts is up there on my list of guys I want to see win one.

Scott was a reliable and decent player for sure. One of those players that kind of got blamed for what he wasn't rather than appreciated for what he was but he was solid here. Notably he helped to make the PK good and occasionally exiting which was one of the few bright spots on the team as far as I could tell. Cheers Scott! Drink a maple leaf for me.

Can’t fault Laughton for the Flyers spending his entire career overhyping him so he looked more than the underwhelming late first round pick he was. Can’t see him surviving long in the nhl when he has to fight for a spot on a normal nhl roster. It’s not your fault, Scott.

12 Years...

I appreciate a man with a receding hairline making it big in the biggest league in the world.

Actually really like his personality and him as a person. However, I'd much rather have someone I hate if they can help win a cup.

I saw Laughton out to dinner after he seemingly made the team out of camp and I told him "good luck this year." He was sent down the next day. I still feel bad about that.

He was a good soldier but suffered from the organization's need to uplift marginal players while ignoring who actually puts asses in seats.

He's a player that should have been moved out years ago (i'm looking at you pre expansion draft)

Thanks for your time here, Scott. Thanks for the community things that you've done.

Now don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I'm happy for him that he gets to play for a team that has enough quality to actually win something. Then again, it's the Leafs, so he probably won't even make it past the first round.

I'll be rooting for him though. Always gave his all and seemed like a great personality on and off the ice. I'm going to miss that Laughton/Konecny shorthanded unit terrorizing opposing PP's.

When is the funeral?? Wonder if Torts will get choked up as he reminisces?

Flyer Twitter already calling for Laughtsy to return as a coach <3

Always liked Laughton. Should have been traded a few times already, but he was a very good bottom 6 guy for a while.

Channel 6 just compared him to Bobby Clarke and now my eye will not stop twitching.
Laughton certainly isn't the worst thing to happen to the team. At least not at the moment.

Like Wayne Simmonds, Laughton was an unfortunate casualty of a terrible Flyers era.

In another timeline he'd have been a playoff warrior to add to his cult status, and for having that stolen from him I am sorry.
I was just thinking the same thing, on a serious note. Another guy who probably would've been loved here had he been a depth guy 20-25 years ago and not pushed as a franchise face during the decade of despair.
