Completely disagree with the bold part. We so often have bad starts into games, having to dig ourselves out of holes regularly. Each game I pray that we at least finish the first period tied. Last game was a huge exception score wise - not performance wise though

They had openings to try and make a play and they would hesitate and the chance was lost. Seemed to be playing it a little safe at times

Quick Panthers impressions that surprised me
- team looked oddly nervous in first period
- looked unexpectedly fatigued from third on
- several players did unexpectedly worse than usual: Forsling (must be injured), Barkov, Reino, Luo, the whole fourth line
- Tkachuk looked slow again after he looked faster end of Carolina series
- Bob’s second goal was what got oilers back into the game
- finally… coach made a couple of questionable decisions

Absolutely insane game. For the neutral it must be a lot of fun. Stressful for fans of the teams!

Man, I thought we blew it again in the 3rd. Wave after wave of Edmonton attack. Just felt like we were going to concede. 17 seconds left and we did. Brutal.

Oilers are really good at moving the puck and it is impacting our smothering forecheck game.

Glad we got the split.

I was pretty much the only fan surrounded by rowdy Oiler fans. So brilliant and very satisfying to get the win.

The first line really has to step their game up. If they aren't scoring fine, but then at least neutralize McDrai better. If McDavid keeps playing that much it has to take its toll.

Yes, keeping them completely scoreless is impossible, but they have 9 points in 2 games compared to 0 in 2 for Barkov and Reinhart. f***ing play better cause we sure as hell won't see it from Tkachuk. We've been waiting for that mofo to step up the entire POs..

Basically they say 4th line was benched in this game as they only averaged around 8:30TOI while Reinhart and Barkov had 30+

Tkachuk basically is skating out there with crutches. He cant skate and turn at all. He glides into each of his turn. Barkov and Reinhart cant complete a simple pass in neutral zone.

Thankfully Verhaughe has some power as he took the regular season off

Maurice will get his matchups now, and play the 4th line more next game I believe. I like the 4th line change he made, and I wouldn’t mind seeing Samo suit up, as he has fresh legs.

I think we are going to see a few surgeries in the offseason for sure, as we are most likely much more
banged up than last years SCF.
