Series Talk: SCFs Discussion - All The Smoke Edition Part II - Panthers Lead 2-1

I love that they’re scrambling with lines and pairings, and going heavy on the McDrai pairing so early in the series.
I made a comment on this point earlier, once they start changing line combinations and pairings, our chances increase as they are not used to do this, since everything has been working for them, it is too late for line practices, those changes confuse players assignments and positioning, these changes are advantageous to us by small margin but enough to allow us to move the puck faster at the middle and up.

I've been a fan since the beginning and have been following these boards since 2003. I don't post much but I don't plan on leaving any time soon 😋
I too was a member from the beginning and finally decided to engage when they finally were exhausted with Yandle jokes (Yandle and Ekblad are interchangeable), but now they are embracing Bennet, (an NHL Villain with a goalie decapitating elbow), the Rat Marchand, Tkachuk, they consider these guys a great example of the good people of Florida, we need better friends.

Would be a wonderful luxury to have, hope it can happen.

Most importantly, Anton Lundell isn't a finished product yet and I think this would help him get there faster & better.
the 3rd line was really good but Marchand just unlocked their potential, for Lundell and Etu, this is a great learning experience.
It is noticeable the Panthers are not running on all cylinders, Thanks for Marchand and the Defense contribution.

Yeah I think their coach is scrambling a bit, with the lack of depth, Hyman being out, and RNH not being 100%. We knew their depth would be an issue with Hyman being out, and with them running McDrai alot already, and 40 year Perry on the top line, our ability to pressure them in their own zone, hit them constantly, and match up the lines the way PoMo wants, gives us the advantage, especially with us having home ice now. I feel like we havent played our best yet, and I expect at least one of these games to resemble Game 2 and 7 from last year. They knew they almost f'd it up last year, and I dont think they do the same this year. If they smell the blood, they need to step on the jugular.

Good observation, after seeing McDavid go through Barkov and Ekblad so easily and pass it to Draisatl to score, in my head I said, this is over, all of my optimism blew out the window, the final result reminded me that it is not the beautiful plays or dominance of the team during the game, it is the score that wins the game. I agree with you, we need to keep pounding them with hits, we really have not done this to our potential, many of our guys look hurt, that is probably why. right now, we have the momentum.

I think they need to attack that Bouchard Nurse pairing. Bouchard is good at getting the puck out, but I think on the attack, we can hem them in.
