Blue Jays Discussion: Save some runs for the other games, guys. (Jays score team record 28 runs in Friday night drubbing of Red Sox. Yes, that says 28. In one game)

Pretty even trade by Baseball Trade Values. I don't think Bennettendi is much of a difference maker so being traded for a bunch of meh maybe prospects is roughly what I expected. If they did it because they're out on Soto then even better

Replacing the black hole that is Gallo with someone who can produce anything is an upgrade.

Frasso highlights from last night.

You wonder how much trouble he could give major league hitters even this season with his velocity and quirky delivery.

If I remember the scouting report at the draft he has great spin on the fastball and extension on his pitches. I thought he had a plus slider, but in this video I'm seeing a plus changeup and a below average slider.

Meh. I don't think the Jays are hurting that much for a bat anyway. Starting pitching would be my target if they absolutely have to make a move. Another lefty would be nice but given how good their lineup is, I don't think it's the end of the world if they cant snag one..

Would pay a good price for Luis Castillo given they'd have him for this run and next year as well given he's not a UFA until 2024. That and preferably an extra arm for the pen.

If he isn’t vaxed by now why would he ever get vaxed?? He won’t like all the others. There is a reason they didn’t get vaxed lol

I think it was Merrifield who said he would have gotten the vaccine if the Royals were in contention, which is obviously beyond stupid. Maybe Benintendi feels the same way.

Undoubtedly Sikkema's value has shot way up during the season. The Royals may be overrating a tad what a 23 yo is accomplishing at the A+ level.

Moreno, Castillo, Frasso may be the starting point for discussions about Soto. Something has to give with the catching situation. Both are going to be long term MLB starting catchers. Parlaying one of the catchers into something that enhances the window of opportunity probably makes sense even if it's painful to do.

Maybe now the Yankees will release Gallo and he could be considered as a reclamation project.

Based on the "Who's Missing", top 10 should have Tatis, Acuna, Soto, Vlad, Franco, Ramirez, Alcantara, and Robert. I'm not sure about the other 2.

Baseball Trade Values isn't a Vlad fan.

Oh my, how can a player in the MLB continually bat under .200 and have a job? 4/5 of Gallo he has been well below .200

In general he's had a solid OBP because he walks a ton. A good OBP with tons of power and good defense has lots of value.

Unfortunately for Gallo and the Yankees (and fortunately for us!) he hasn't done any of that this year.

Houston is making Siri available too (as well as pitching).

He could be an interesting guy to go after if our coaches think that they can tweak his swing.

That would be really interesting, though Houston would presumably be looking for win-now pieces that the Jays aren't willing to give up right now. Still, he has a bit of offensive upside and at worst would replace Zimmer in the elite speed/defense spot. Zimmer grades really well in both those roles, but Siri is actually better at both.

I would think a lot rides on tonight’s performance with Kikuchi. If he has another crappy outing I would think Atkins would be on the phone getting another starter and BP help

With Kikuchi, we don't care about whether his end results are good. We care about what he does. He needs to show the arm angle and changed slider (and not revert back if he gets in trouble)

Also on Kikuchi at some point you’d think the Jays will limit Manoah’s innings to not over work him. Again if Kikuchi looks like shit you gotta go get a starter

Depending on what Toronto wants to do, Danny Jansen would be pretty attractive piece to start buying from Houston.
