The guy's had a tough go at it since he signed the big contract. Goals continue to bounce off him into Quick's net.. but tonight he made that amazingly lucky stick save. With all the bad luck he's had it's about time slava made out w/ some magical luck on the Nash open net.

Quick loves you tonight!

Big fan of Slava, huge save haha!

His stick work tonight made up for his kick in.

Kid is going to be good. I won't bump the thread but he was destined to be a good one. One off season this early in his career isn't anything to worry about. Vyacheslav is a winner.

Tough playoff and tougher final for Slava. Here's hoping that deflection boosts his confidence. I've felt he can become everything I wanted Zhitnik to become before being traded. I think the biggest hole in his game is his inability to shake off bad plays and mistakes. Once he makes a blunder he loses his ability to make sound decisions because he over thinks the simplest plays. Considering the fact that this was his first full season in the league, he has plenty of time to work on the mental part of his game.

He reminds me a bit of Jack Johnson. His decision making with the puck in the defensive zone is just pretty bad. He's also chasing the puck a lot.

Its something you have or dont have.

He has a lot of other tools.

I thought he had a pretty rough game, but he redeemed ALL with that stick save in overtime. Here's to rest, recuperation, and a return to form for Mr. Voynov.

I couldn't see the stick save in person because my seats are too low too see clearly on the other side of the rink but when I got home I saw that great Cup saving play by Slava.

I really want him to succeed and he had mostly a horrid season and playoffs but wow, did he come through with some timely defensive plays also. That was a great play to keep Nash off the scoreboard and end that game prematurely.

Kudos to Slava and here is hoping he settles down with that big contract and plays like we all know he can.

Another thing, the cheers for him as he raised the Cup were noticeably more quiet than most of the other players. I think the fans collectively are not happy with his stumbles, but Sutter must know something we don't...it seems like Mitchell and Voynov were out there an awful lot in the two overtimes and they weren't playing well...I was wondering why Sutter didn't play Greene and Martinez more, since I felt that that defensive tandem was playing much better than our 2nd line defensive corps.

I still think we're underestimating the fatigue factor as well as this was his first full season and first training camp with the team. Sky is the limit with this kid, I think we'll see him bounce back big next year. Has all the tools to do so. I don't think his decision-making is a detriment as others do, I think it's a mental thing for sure, but I chalk that up to mental and physical fatigue as well as the sophomore slump--I think he breaks thru it with an offseason of rest and conditioning.

Never under estimate the deficiency in performance when a nice contract is signed.

Quick / Kopitar / Doughty all had meh years following a contract.

The pressure to live up to your $$ mixed with a sense of life-security --i assume would
make a player have more in his head with this contradictory situation.

I have no doubt that he will be a good 3-4 guy, and hope the Kings develop him further, and he gets the benefit of the doubt and I want to see him at least the next two seasons, but my eye will be on him and more critical than usual. He scares me going forward, but I am happy he is on the team. Will just have to wait and see how the defense shifts and develops with Greene and Mitchell on the UFA block.

terrible turnovers last night but he made up for it with that Nash deflection

I expect better things from him next yr and i no doubt he will

he's just too talented not too

Sure hope he shapes up next year. I got very little love for slava right now. Yes he kept the kings alive in OT on that deflected shot. But one could argue that if Voynov wasn't on the ice that shot opportunity never happens.

We will see. I do want to say that Martinez is MONEY!!! He played awesome in that series.

Slava had a down season, but he is real young. I aint worried, I'm sure it's just a sophomore slump of sorts.
We all know what he is capable of, and he'll get back to it sooner rather than later I think.

Call me crazy, but I thought (and still do) that was a very high percentage failure. I thought for sure that was going into the Kings net. He got lucky on that one and after all the pucks that have gone off him into the Kings own net, I think it's fitting!

Ever since the puck bounced over his stick in OT of Game 5 vs Chicago last season he has had zero confidence, whether playing for the Kings or in the Olympics. And before that game he had a stellar 2013 playoffs, arguably the Kings playoff MVP.

Hopefully a summer of celebrating and not thinking about a season ending mistake will help Slava, as poorly as he played this season it's tough to not think about all the potential he showed the year before.
