Value of: Saros or Josi to Toronto?

What would it take for the Leafs to land one of Saros or Josi? I donn't think they can get both.

Moving on from Johansen doesn't change our views on trading Saros or Josi, we need a high valued prospect, preferably a center or defenseman coming back.

Josi has a NMC and will retire as a Predator.

I don't think people should read much into the Johansen trade. He was a guy Trotz has wanted gone, but due to his injury last year he had to wait out his recovery and through to the end of the Buyout window to be able to dump him. It has no real bearing on any other moves the Preds would make.

I don't believe the Leafs would have the assets necessary to acquire Saros at the price it would take.

Saros I have interest in. But they likely want something crazy. I could see them doing a Nylander for Saros swap and then trying to sign Nylander. He is a center naturally who has played wing in Toronto as that is where we need him. Was a C in Europe and for the Marlies.

But I doubt there is a trade that works here because Toronto always has nothing for assets on here until someone leaves and then they were valuable all along

Preds have no control over Josi, although me personally I'd be fine with trading him.

Saros likely won't be traded unless it's whoever your best prospect is, unless Trotz and the owners have just decided to tear it all down, which the Joey trade doesn't tell you one way or another. That was a guy Trotz wanted gone, just like when Poile booted Turris.
