Those games may end up costing the Sting but most teams in the league lose games that they shouldn't.

Oshawa had a five-game losing streak around this time last year where they lost to bottom-tier teams like Flint, Kingston, Niagara, and Owen Sound. They still went on to the OHL Finals. Bad habits can rear their ugly head for any team at any point.

It's the coaches job to get them back on track. If we don't see improvement in the next four/five games then I'd be willing to hit the panic button.

Flint still has BFD, LDN, SAG (x3), and WSR on their schedule. It's fairly similar to Sarnia's so I don't see them building up their lead because of that. 6th will be dependant on who plays better down the stretch and how the three remaining games between the Firebirds/Sting play out
Five games have passed and nothing has changed. Unreal to have this bad of a stretch twice in a season. I've had stuff get in the way over the last few weeks so I haven't been able to watch too much but when I have it's been bad.

I was at the SAG game and boy was that 3rd period a waste of time and money. They barely touched the puck for the first 15 minutes. After SAG made it 5-2, I was looking for who was still in the game. I saw two players. 16 yr old Ryder Simpson was energetic + physical and I saw Young giving it to someone on the bench. That was what really set me off with Letang. If you can't get guys to play for each other then you've lost the locker room.

I watched the last two periods tonight. They were heavily outshot and only had a few offensive chances. I looked at the lines before the game and they were in the blender by the third lol. Hung their goalie out to dry in the final minute again. Must be three or four times that they've done that this year. I'm impressed the compete level of Maillet & Surzycia considering how often they're hung out to dry.

Vets looked out of it. Doucette & Filak have been awfully quiet since making their NCAA committments. Your captain sets the tone and Fischer was not there. Took two bad penalties, one of which led to the game-tying goal. He should be taking over games like this not blending into the background.

The next coaching staff needs to have no prior connection to the Sting. Failure breeds more failure and that's all the team has been doing for ages. This team has young talent and can be a winner with proper coaching so for once please don't hire the cookie cutter option. Be different like Kitchener was when they hired Ahokas

Legwand and Seca could easily step on the bench with matsos.
Legwand coaches his sons minor hockey team in Detroit and they're heading into the final stretch of their season so I doubt he would come and do it. I don't want Seca down on the bench either. Let him focus on his job. The team has an ultra-important draft coming up and he should be out scouting prospects.

Funniest part is the most Sarnia thing to do isn't coming 2nd last & picking top 3 it'll be winning a game they shouldn't to win 8th by 1 point so they get LDN round 1 while the team we beat out by 1 point wins the lottery. lol.

@SarniaStingFan is better for draft knowledge. He might know the top guys fairly well. I know one of the top guys is Charlie Murata. Seen on the draft thread some knowledgable ppl saying the top 3-4 is strong, but the rest of round 1 is a huge debate/clump of guys.
@OHL4Life mentioned on the draft board that Murata, Max Delisle (brother of Tristan Delsile in OS), and Camryn Warren seem to be the top three at this point

Sarnia's leading point getter has 38 points.... that would be 9th on LDN... 7th on KIT and WSR ... 7th on the SOO and 5th on Flint.... insane.
To add on to the misery, two local players (Hookey & Nesbitt) are top 50 in league scoring and Van Gorp has 35 points in London.

The misses in their own backyard are a massive problem. I don't get too worked up over Nesbitt because we got Brown. The other two were a 9th round pick and a free agent signing. The Sting should have been all over them. They were literally playing minor hockey on your rink. Van Gorp was at your training camp, you didn't sign him, and London said thank you very much. That stuff really irks me

Bang on. Legwand must have so many connections in hockey. If he'd rather stay states side with his family & not coach here he could find a great coaching staff if he wants it.

Kitchener is such a perfect example. They had a stacked roster a few years ago & were sitting 8th/9th all yr & their board was all over their coach saying it was on him. They changed late in that yr & played better late & swept Windsor as an 8 seed.. Then the last 2 seasons most (including my dumb ass) had them as a fringe playoff team at best & Ahokas has absolutely maximized every players abilities/talent.

Now he seems like he's a truly elite coach, but there are definitely guys out there Legwand could hire who could/would get more out of this team moving forward & develop these U17s properly.

I really don't care if they squeak in or if they put up a fight vs LDN/WSR (wouldn't happen but say they did) if Letang is back next yr ill definitely be strongly reconsidering renewing my season tickets. I'm sure he's a nice guy & I liked his first 2 seasons. He's made this team unwatchable. He limits the team offensively. He never makes adjustments. Is so stubborn. These things rang true on the biggest stage too for Canada. Hired his buddy Jeffreys & doesn't hold him accountable. Simply time for a change.

Our vets, more than the rookies and second year guys, have been taking stupid penalties all year. And combined with the atrocious PK, have cost numerous games.

Bad discipline, bad special teams, no compete level. I thought a month or so ago that they might even win a playoff round. Not a hope in hell of that now.
