You know the drill. Age cutoff 25, NHL games played cutoff 40. Poll will close after 2 days unless the results are incredibly lopsided. Last year's rankings will be in parentheses.

2. Will Smith ~90% (#1)
3. Sam Dickinson ~95% (NR)

again, Havelid and Wetsch are the only ones with NHL size and talent and could make it someday. Coe, Robins, and Lund could be good AHLers. The rest are straight up longshots.

I definitely don't agree when it comes to Havelid. As stated above, he's pretty small, and honestly, I've just not been particularly impressed when I've seen him play, nor do his numbers outside of that stand out in any way. I'll keep pulling for him but I have my doubts.

Not sure why Lund is already cast into the bin of career AHLer. He has a ways to go but I've started to feel I've overlooked him a bit and there could still be something there. I'm also excited to see how Svoboda makes the transition to NCAA hockey after maybe figuring some things out for himself this year in terms of how to succeed. Surely only a future bottom six guy, but that has value and it'll be interesting to see if he can get there.

That said, Lund feels like the guy here. But it's crazy we're on 19 and you still have Havelid, Lund, Wetsch, and others who feel like they could get there one day, and you don't even have to be totally delusion to think that.

Oh and Roberts, but I don't want to say that too many times and get Nem too excited

This really is truly amazing. Lund is just barely 20. He's 6'2". He's nearly a point per game center in the NCAA as a sophomore, and we are like 'meh', it's a bust.

Yes, he's not smith or celebrini. But, he's not a bust either. We'll see how his junior year goes, but if he does well, he'll go pro and get a chance to show us what hes got at 21 yo on the cuda. Im not sold that we have seen the land of lund just yet.

That said, all of the above might make him great trade bait from a team with such a deep farm.

I propose an addition to the list and a fantasy I have: the return of Sasha Chmelevski. hes 25, less than 40 NHL games and still sharks property. Guy put up 56 pts in 67 games to lead his team in scoring the KHL.

Crazier things have happened. Could he return and take over? Similar numbers and age to kaprizov (a bit less ,but still). Could Grier coax him back?

Just throwing it out there :)

The biggest red flag with Lund is that he's still in the NCAA.

I know that I’ve never seen the land of Lund. Is it anything like the land of the lost?
Hahaha... Meant to write "the last of Lund..." Though if he suddenly explodes and becomes a superstar, then I like SJ as the Land of Lund!

And being the NCAA still is not a red flag. hes obviously not a super high end prospect at this stage, but he played freshman year at 18, then sophomore. There is no need to rush to the AHL, especially not given the sharks prospect pool. It obviously makes more sense for him to continue to develop in college. However, if he has a great junior year, he might go pro at 21 forgoing his Senior year. I see this year as the big one for Lund. If he can be "the guy" for Northeastern this year and put up 40+ pts with good D, then hell get his contract and start his pro career. No need to rush, but I definitely dont think hes toast just yet.
