Why Henricks over Richard? I don't really have a good reason. At this point it feels like Richard could be a useful call-up in event of an injury, or at best a 3rd pair D. With younger age / more runway maybe Henricks can become more than that?

Why Henricks over Richard? I don't really have a good reason. At this point it feels like Richard could be a useful call-up in event of an injury, or at best a 3rd pair D. With younger age / more runway maybe Henricks can become more than that?

I haven't seen enough of either player. But we've seen many times a good skating rangy D who is just a pretty good college defenseman ends up as a middle pair guy in the NHL some years later. The runway is long for D like this.
