14 points in 24 games so far isnt bad, but he still has yet to prove anything. He's certainly taking a long time to be an elite player. Does Buffalo have any interest in moving him, and do other teams want to trade anything for him? I bet the asking price is huge. Buffalo needs a good defender, could a deal be made to acquire one?
I'm sure we're tripping over ourselves to trade Reinhart. The Sabres are at their best by virtually every metric when Reinhart is on the ice. Every player with whom he's played for a significant sample is substantially better with Reinhart than without. Perhaps most importantly, he brings out the best in Eichel, who is by far the organization's most important player.
We are looking for a defender - not at the expense of Sam Reinhart, however. That's robbing Peter to pay Paul, and very likely makes us worse.
Look at others his age and younger. He isnt living up to all the hype i've heard of him.
Have you yet alerted the fanbases of Dylan Larkin, Sam Bennett, et al. that their guys aren't "living up to all the hype?" Hell, William Nylander and his 16 pts in 23 games - marginally better than 14 in 24 - must not be "living up to the hype," either.
