So in the meantime we will actually have our eyes bleeding from watching a Kolosov/Fedotov tandem struggle to come up with anything resembling NHL goaltending while the only goaltender in the organization playing reasonably well this season so far is stuck with the Phantoms?!

So you can focus on getting the rest of the team playing well, and still lose games.

Now for some teams, that can be a hole they never can fill, like NJ trading a 1st for Markstrom and watching him revert to his mediocre self.
But Flyers have young goalies lined up, so odds are they hit on a couple.

Meanwhile they can try out the two on the roster and see if they are in their future plans or have value as trade bait or just need to be buried in the AHL/KHL.

Based on what? Can you also define what you describe as a hit? So, you think they "hit" on 2 of Kolosov, other Russian, and Carson?

Zavragin and Bjarnason are both off to good starts at 19.
Even Makiniemi is playing well, though I doubt he's in their plans.
Kolosov will get a full try out and has flashed talent.
Ersson was playing well before he got hurt.
