These guys don’t help us by being suspended for chunks at a time. Said that by the end of the month we’d know if we can try one more time or not. Not really liking the looks of it. They got 10 games left until game 34. Have to get 7 wins out of those 10 to get to 20 by the half way mark. Not likely to happen with a short bench. Lazary had a pregame interview recently where he talked about he liked seeing the fight from the guys when scrums start breaking out. I cringed a little. He has to tell the guys to knock it the hell off. He’s a good coach but he has to get control of this garbage now.

Really think that Drinkill has to consider trading Parekh. He is still a highly skilled D who needs a change of scenery.
He would generate an 08 and picks that are in need. Mangone, Willis, Hay would provide a fully stocked cupboard. Build on the 07 08s.
You never know what the plan of management is? Something could happen it’s OHL hockey.

Show me a league that hands out suspensions in an even handed and logical way and I’ll show you a league that doesn’t exist.

I’m not condoning anything, I just don’t get why people are confused. Have you never followed sports before? There isn’t a league for any sport where people look at suspensions and say, “yeah, that seems about right” more than a quarter of the time.

I'd say they are confused because it seems to be happening more and more with Saginaw where a player get's off with a hand slap.

As far as the Parekh major and 1 game that was consistent with what Bilecki just got from the Rangers (stick up somewhat in self defense against a charging player). Bilecki as a rookie has no history. Has Parekh been suspended before?

Guo swing is right up there with Boulton's. Was contact made? What is Guo's rap sheet (I honestly don't know). If contact wasn't made and/or he hasn't a lengthy history it aligns with the league's punishment on Ryder.

Don't need to get me started on the league's ineptitude towards repeat offenders. Just that these 2 incidents were of similar severity and got the same punishment.

Both repeat offenders. I'm not interested in comparing to Boulton, that guy gets what he deserves, but again Haulltunen has never been suspended before, gets 4 games, and didn't take a baseball swing to a players head or cross check someone in the face

Guo got 5 games last season for a swing that connected with a SSM players head. Trying to do it again should have been more than 4 games.

Agreed. 8-10ish would be more appropriate in my estimation.

Halts was overpunished but worth more than 1. Can't deck guys from behind, especially if they haven't even played the puck.

I'm only interested in comparing similar acts, and tacking on more for repeat offenders. Regardless of name on the back or crest on the front.

And a crosscheck to the face, plus another one to the back by a repeat offender is worth only 1?

Absolutely not. 4-6 for Parekh. We know this league is not consistent. Bad look.

I really feel the league should be issuing fines to teams based on REPEAT (perhaps 3x-plus) suspended players' actions. It would hopefully have the effect of discouraging 1-dimsional goons in the OHL. Unfortunately fines to owners wouldn't be fair across the board due to vastly different depths of pockets. I also think the the token amount would be less of a detriment than the bad publicity.

I try to keep my bias of not liking the player ( and yet blown away by his skills ) from interfering with what I see after repeating the video multiple times.
The other player was stopping, not barreling into him or the crease. The crosscheck was clearly to the face not chest, and he repeats it as the player is going down. This occurs at a moment of stopage, not while the game is underway ( as in Guo's case ), making it done with more intent in my mind.

I am clueless as to a 1 game suspension... what needed to be added, blood and spit chicklets?
