Yeah, Zucker and Kulich were having some conversations on the bench in a couple of the shots of the coaches yesterday. It was kinda cool.
Zucker seems to be constantly talking to a lot of the guys on the bench -- I've seen him and Benson involved in conversations as well.

One of the things Zucker (and Lafferty) has said is that he felt like his brand of leadership was sorely needed in the Sabres locker room (or something to that effect). Sure looks like a good fit on the surface.

Veteran leaders who are actually contributing on the ice certainly feel like their word will go a lot farther than a leader who is past their prime which is what we had last year.

I'm not going to expect him to break 60 pts. 50pt+ would be excellent. That's actually 2nd line production.

His real value is going to come from his leadership. Some veteran sign with a team, and show up for a pacheck. Others relish in their role as a leader. They take it seriously, and truly want to be a mentor to the young players.

Zucker couldve been Hall 2.0. Collect his paycheck, and get moved to a contender at the deadline. It's only a one year deal after all. The team was spiraling early in the season. Would've been easier to mail it in, and wait for the TDL to play for a real team, but he was consistently battling even during the lows of that terrible start.

Hopefully, it rubs off on the younger players, and becomes something they carry with them the rest of their careers.
