Odd choice.
I don’t think age should prevent young guys being named captain. Landeskog is a great captain and was at the time I believe the youngest ever namedLooks like they learned from making Eichel the captain as a teenager.
Could have gone without one this season again. Not in any way shape or form.
Okposo is the team's leader in every sense but production. He is their heart, their soul and their conscience. I imagine that a 2-3 year extension is upcoming form him unless he decides to retire. He's a Sabre for as long as he wants to play hockey.
Girgensons getting an A is also highly predictable. Dahlin is a touch surprising, but he has apparently taken a big step in the room.....especially as in holding his fellow "kids" responsible.

Very much so, especially after what he went through mentally/physically earlier in his Sabres' tenure. He came back after that a very different person. This is kind of a feel good story, isn’t it?
Okposo was pretty good last year too, no?
Odd choice.

It seems odd because he only has 1 year left on his contract, but if they intend to extend him, then it makes more sense. Why? Veteran who seems to be well liked and respected in the dressing room. Better than giving one of the kids the 'C' and putting even more pressure on them on top of just trying to develop their game.
Who had that on their bingo card?
One of my all time favorite islanders!!! Okie is a great leader and person. Good choice until a younger guy proves himself.
Uh, oh really?Looks like they learned from making Eichel the captain as a teenager.
