Complaining about Tuch is f***ing crazy. This board has lost it
He's obviously playing a little banged up and without TT, but has a pt per game and came on as the game went on last night I thought with the culmination being the spectacular play in overtime.

My only complaints are the shots that go 5 feet wide or over the net, but as team they do this and things like getting stuck on the ice for the last over 3 minutes of a game like in LA (also a team IQ thing).

I'm just a fount of friendly fire tonight, but I'm sorry Dunleavy is just bad. He's such drag. He's got some intense Canadian winner's guilt to be so drab about a rookie scoring a wild OT winner.

Going from even late RJ to him has been like walking out of Studio 54 straight into a madrassa. He's too much of a stiff to become an institution here, inshallah.
Honestly wish we had taken advantage of that appalling decision by Tom Dundon to get rid of Chuck Kaiton and hired him as a bridge until they found someone worthy of replacing RJ.

Dunleavy is terrible. I always watch the opponent's feed because of him.

Him and Rob should just swap roles with Duff and Biron. It'll never happen though.
Remember when Duff had to take over a broadcast after RJ had a medical emergency and did a far better job than Dunleavy ever has under the worst circumstances possible?

I was too harsh on Tuch the other day. I still think he's more of a 1/2W tweener, and some things in his game leave me wanting/worried about precipitous decline. But he works his ass off and produces consistently. I'm glad he's on the team. That play in overtime last night was his essence.

Zucker is a maniac. We've needed his kind of energy from our vets for years.

Just needed vets who aren't well past their best before date.

Duff would be way better on the mic than Dunleavy that's for sure.
We have proof.

Duff took the PBP microphone after RJ took ill during a game a few years back. He did a thoroughly professional, competent job in what had to be a challenging situation for him, seeing a close colleague suddenly go down.

Did the Sabres broadcast management team take note of that? Dunno. Maybe Duff was offered the job but wasn't interested. An unforced error if not.

EDIT: Mike beat me to it. In a reply to me. Doh! @sabremike

I love him and he's come up big, but like the rest of the team, he starts games slow, almost always looks lost in his own zone, and too often (for my liking) makes these big gliding turns that look like my dad at freeskate instead of getting on his horse to get to the play.

I do agree that he is ideally a high end 2nd line wing. Lindy should ride him a little less often on the PK; I can tell he puts Tuch out there for any potential SHG opportunities.

I didn't think Cozens was bad last night :dunno:

Went back and checked the stats and he seemed fine

My only complaint is about Tuch. On that last shift he was awesome, he flew around with the mentality that he would murder anyone for the puck. We've seen it before, I just wish he'd turn the switch on more often. He can absolutely take over a game whenever he wants, this group needs him to do more often.

Hathaway stole Cozens soul.

Move him to wing in the bottom-6. Maybe playing against weaker opponents in a less demanding role will get him going.

Even with Tage out they've still got the center depth to support that move. McLeod, Kulich, Krebs, Lafferty. Not ideal, but doable.
I don't disagree with this. Kulich outplayed Cozens yesterday and it was great to see Ruff have confidence in Kulich putting him out there in overtime.

I think we might see Kulich sticking with the club this time. Maybe sending him down let him think a little about his game.

Don Stevens has trouble with names all over the ice, I don't think you've listened to a Roch game recently. That man is nearly out the door.

Which is why Mossbrooks is doing the road games. There is something up with Don medically and he's been calling games for something like 55 years. Even he acknowledges his inability to keep guys identities straight due to failing eye sight. It's been a career but it is nearing its end.
