Simple enough, what is the return on the pick and which teams would be interested. I have zero interest in this pick. Sabres, and specifically Adams, needs to make the playoffs this year. Feel free to add it as a package for something bigger if you like.

Devils have a glut of RHD. I think NJ will try and trade Hamilton this offseason but he has a 10 team trade list, 9m x 3 years cap hit and is more offensively minded. Devils might retain if for some reason he's willing to go to Buffalo, and it got them the 9th overall which they then move for forward help.

I don't think Devils will trade Nemec anymore, Casey doesn't fit, Pesce has a NTC, and Kovacevic isn't good enough.

Not sure if this is realistic

You want an established player, but the teams who would take a pick over an established player with this much value are likely in some sort of rebuild... and thus would lack established players for this trade

And teams who do have a player you'd want wouldn't want to deal them because they're competitive right now

I think Buffalo's 9ov would be a good starting point for Ryan Pulock. Top 4 RD, 20+ min a night PK D signed till 29-30 at a reasonable 6.15m Islanders likely drafting Matthew Schaefer and with Noah Dobson about to sign an RFA extension with a hefty raise even after a down season. I'd think Ryan Pulock would be available. Ideal positional target for Buffalo needs.

I could see Rasmus Andersson being available but I'd question if he'd extend in Buffalo and he's only got a year on his deal. That's probably too risky for Adams. Could you really use a top 10 pick for a guy you might only have as a rental? I don't think Buffalo is a market that does that.

BUT

Would he waive his NTC to come here? That's always the huge question. Buffalo hasn't made itself a very attractive destination.

Sure, fair point. I have no idea.

He could reasonably be the odd man out on the Islanders though and I don't expect the Islanders are a quick return to the playoffs. 1ov overall is a great get for them and pulling a top 10 pick for Pulock would be another piece in the right direction. They get Schaefer and a pick right in the range where their pick was expected to be and probably have a really good idea who'd they were after in that range already.

It's not like asking a guy on a contender to waive. Islanders need to get younger and add higher end skill. Least from their point of view I can see them being willing to make a move like this. For Pulock playing a top 4 roll with Dahlin, Power and Byram doesn't sound bad in theory. I mean eventually Buffalo has to figure this out. It's worth doing due diligence to see if a deal could be made with him waiving.

Seattle would be my target

At his age and production on a line with one of the best centers in the game, he's not replicating what he did in Pittsburgh in Buffalo. I don't think he's close to 9OA given age.
You asked for a middle 6 winger.

35 goals and 70 points is just a wee bit higher than middle 6 production, so I don't see how replicating that would be a prerequisite.

RHD is a need you say? Rasmus Andersson is the solution to that!!

I'd even throw in Florida's pick with him because I'm a nice guy.

RHD who is competent in the top 4 - leans heavier toward a defensive need than an offensive need.

Wouldn't sneeze at a mid-6 veteran winger with tread on the tire who plays a good 2-way game.

No interest in the draft pick but we would trade you Mancini, Garland + (not sure what the plus would be but understand it would have to be significant) for Peterka. Mancini is a big bodied very fleet of foot RHD who has some upside but probably projects as more of a #5. You guys would probably push for Willander as he has a higher upside - not sure how we would feel about that as we have him pencilled into our top 4 for the next decade.

Not enough for Peterka.

Teams who tried to make the playoffs and realized their window might be closed or they want to tank harder for McKenna, there are potentially a few: Pitt, NYI, NYR, Seattle, DET, BOS, Preds, Flames and Nucks

2026 is gonna be a tanking race like Crosby and McD draft years

If trade don’t go for another left shot D.,

I know there has about Tampa moving Cerlli and I don't think they should but if they are willing to do that I'd be calling them up and seeing if there is something that can be worked out there.
