Kings Article: RW Prospect Scott Sabourin Could Be Another Diamond In The Rough For LA Kings

One thing I noticed he has an excellent shot.

For the Kings a potential 4th liner because of this toughness, for most other teams probably a career AHL'er.

Not impressed with this guy, he is a fringe AHL guy outside of two months last season(when he caught fire).

Jury is still out in my opinion as well. Shows he's more than a 4th liner at times, but then looks like he belongs as a career AHL player other times. Time will tell.

Pretty much. Last year's camp, Sabs was probably the 2nd most impressive after Pearson, so, he seems to have some skills and a decent set of wheels. Unfortunately, even if he were to have another good camp, I doubt he makes our deep roster.

He'll probably make it to the nhl. Just not with the kings.

Of course the jury is still out. He's only had one year of pro experience. This isn't the next Mario Lemieux, or other player who was going to jump from junior directly to the NHL.

Seems to me he's progressing as expected. Might make it to the big show, might not. But from where he came from and the path he had to take to get where he is now, it's rather remarkable that he's progressed this far, this fast.

No doubt. From a camp invitee to being a somewhat relevant piece in the system. Not bad. Not sure if he'll pan out but he could definitely have his utility in the future if he keeps progressing.

I get up at seven, yeah
And I go to work at nine
I got no time for livin'
Yes, I'm workin' all the time

It seems to me I could live my life
A lot better than I think I am
I guess that's why they call me
They call me the working Gann

They call me the working Gann
I guess that's what I am

I get home at five o'clock
And I take myself out a nice, cold beer
Always seem to be wonderin'
Why there's nothin' goin' down here

It seems to me I could live my life
A lot better than I think I am
I guess that's why they call me
The working Gann

Well, they call me the working Gann
I guess that's what I am

I love nay sayers like you, Sabourin has defied all probable odds, he'll never make it in AAA he'll never make Tier 2 Junior A, he'll never make Major Junior A, he'll never make it to the AHL, he'll never sign an NHL contract. Time will tell, but I'm in the minority that say Sabourin will one day play in the NHL for the LA Kings.:)

Never said he wouldn't make it, I said he is a fringe AHL guy that is not impressive. Which at this juncture of his career is 100% true.

Now does that mean he can't develop into a bottom Six NHL player ? No.

Unless we suddenly lose multiple guys in our bottom 6, I dont see him making the Kings. Plus there are other guys on the depth chart I see having a better chance.

Granted, this is based only only seeing him in very limited action. But nothing stands out about him to me
